Whatever you do dont listen to 'Rock The Shack' - Wrote my car off four weeks ago whilst singing along and overtaking! Listening to it still gives me whiplash!
I agree as well, Get Ready is definately a "Car Album" I have to say that when Someone Like You comes on it is full blast in my speakers and I am singing and I know people are looking at me strange, but I don't care... :)
Temptation: theres a lot of old run down factories near where I live, very desolate looking, and for some reason Temptation just seems to go with the scenery. Its also nice when I'm driving in the country. Best song for driving at night for me is probably the Thieves Like Us Instrumental, Perfect Kiss, Brutal, BLT (the Mix on a CD labeled Out of Order is the best) Crystal, Paradise (also the one from Out of Order).
in 1990, i went along with my mom while she shopped for a new car. i brought along substance on cassette to try out the stereo. i cued up ShellShock and put the system to the test. the panning in the intro is still fun to listen to (someone like you fucking rocks in a similar way). mom thought the stereo sounded great. i don't think the music she was into was quite so dynamic. so, Shellshock reminds me of driving quite a bit. desolate roads in louisiana look so much better when new order songs are blasted through the speakers.

This is why I'm happy to drive a 4x4.. I'm higher than everybody and can sing without any shame of looking stupid :D
Nah, I don't do that often, but I do admit that I do it too often on Turn My Way... (when I'm alone, of course)

I couldn't agree with you more Nicolas. I used to drive a Ford F150 truck and that thing made me feel like queen of the road......
I do the same with Turn My Way as well :)
A pal of mine was joining university at around the time of Technique. We set off for a day of driving to find him digs around London (we were from the North) - fortunately, I took a tape of the Technique album to take my mind of his shite driving (and to stop him putting Prince on) and when we got back on the night in his dad's Orion the engine was smoking, we'd crashed it into a bollard and the speakers were melted onto the casing. His dad was pretty shocked we'd even brought it back.
A couple of weeks after we'd just come off a 5-a-side footy match and my mate got in his car. Bang! wrote it off on another bollard in the car park. At the time, no NO music was playing... which I always thought could have been the reason. Either that or my mate was just wank at driving, probably the latter.
