Your thoughts please.

I think even though with 5 members, 3 of them came from New order. The additions to the band makes the sound, they would be a diffent band. But hearing 2 songs so far, they sound like New order without the bass player. BUT I hate to compare what Bernard doing away from New order as new order. If I hear "Rising from the ashes of New order" I swear there will be trouble here lol. I vote option 3.

If you think somewhere down the road Peter will come back to reform New order vote New order Side project. When Electronic formed New order technically stil was together, so was Revenge and Other Two. Or vote this option on your own merits.

In my world, there already was a New Order 2, which was the lineup that made Get Ready and Sirens' Call.

I miss Gillian...

Gillian was on the Get Ready recordings, she only got replaced by Phil when they started touring.

That's why Get Ready is a good album and WFTSC not.:\ohwell:

It's a different, new band, in my opinion. Everyone's moved on. Things haven't been the same since 2001, or 1994 if you want to be really picky.

Not that I have anything against Bad Lieutenant or what everyone's been up to in recent years: I wish everyone the best and have a stockpile of fond old memories to hold on to!

Funny you should ask... from the Guardian's review of Never Cry Another Tear in reference to Get Ready/WFTSC:

"In fact, perhaps the only way that New Order V2.0 trumped their original incarnation was with the acrimony of their breakup."

And also: "The albums they released certainly weren't bad..." :uhoh:

Get Ready wasn't bad. Not so certain about the other one.

WFTSC had a redeeming feature. The Bass.

WFTSC is, in both terms of songwriting, production, feel, ect, superior to Get Ready by a country mile.

The only edge Get Ready has on WFTSC is Crystal.

definitely a new band, because there is no New Order anymore, so you can't have a side project to something that doesn't exist  way they're going about it, don't think it's a one off either.

Politely, who gives a shit?

It's not a secret who is in any of these the bands, they're not trying to con anyone. If it said "featuring Peter Hook" on the front, it would be different.

I just hope FB find a way to get their album out soon, and get touring, then we can all moan about them as well.

LOL sounds liek you are pissed off Peter left New order told them not to peruse new order thus killing them, well I have news for you, if Bernard and Steve and Phil moved on, why can't some fans?

Barney is 53, his main career behind him.

Bad Lieutenant is just like Monaco was.

Jake Evans may have some writing but it is clear that the only reason anybody is paying any attention to Bad Lieutenant is because it has Sumner in it. It's a "side project" for both if you have to provide a label.

This is not a full time band with a long history ahead. Barney is too old. If Jake Evans is really talented like Barney says (i don't see it yet imo) he isn't going to stick around full time with the old farts and dorky Phil.

My main thoughts exactly, New order is the past. Technically they died when their beloved Factory records died, thus disabling the idea they can do whatever whenever, since then they signed to record company making them sound what recond companies want. Also they lost 25% of their sound when Gillian left. And now 50% of their sound when Peter left.

Wow, 2 threads and say "who gives a fuck?" I think you need to get fucked.

Bad Lieutenant is simply Bad Lieutenant. The fact that three NO/JD members are in it, makes no difference. It's like comparing Warsaw to Joy Division, or Temptation '98 to the original.

I wouldn't go that far. Crystal, SLY, and Run Wild cannot be touched by anything on WFTSC.

Band dorky Phil.

53 is not old. Not by a long shot. I know guys in rock bands who're in their 70's!!!!!!!!!!!! I know a women who is starting a new rock band who is 82!! So don't throw 53 around like it's old when it's not.
