Just pay in USD and download.
If the band only value the album at $2.99 (£1.87 or 2.05 EUR) then maybe they'll be giving it away at the UK and Paris gigs?
At least when it ends up in the "bargain bins" it will be selling for more than people originally paid for it...

True, but if someone announced that they were giving away £40 for one day only, anyone who really wanted it would get it.
That leaves those who really weren't that bothered in the first place...
No guessing where your allegiance lies, Chris. You've been rubbishing everything BL ever since it took off.
I reckon making it available on the cheap and doing small gigs and support slots, is all part of the plan. Like starting all over again (although the New Order history certainly helps of course :) )
I was going to get the official download, but alas, US and UK residents only, which in this day and age (on the WORLD wide web) is pathetic

Small point, but important... I've criticised it since I heard the particularly weak songs, not before. 
Fair enough, point taken. But what's weak? Taste will always be very personal. Based on the 10 songs I've heard so far, I like BL. Looking forward to hearing the other long awaited side as well of course, and like yourself, I'll refrain from rubbishing them until I've heard at least 10 songs :)

Guys, it's just an mp3 version that sells for 2.99. The CD costs $12.99. So I don't know if you all get excited over mp3s....

I've heard 14 so far... haven't much liked any of them. I'm not saying they're crap, as I think it's unfair to say that about any music - if just one person likes it, then it's worked in some way. However, in my opinion, they're weak because of the very poorly constructed lyrics, the mis-matching vocals, the lack of drive to the songs, the way they've been produced, the lack of any real hook lines (pun not originally intended) and the thing I find most frustrating is that BL have one of the most respected drummers in the music business but on the tracks Steve plays on, his talent is wasted - as if it's been restrained or muted somehow.
There seem to be many people who have so far been either very disappointed with the BL output and others who actively dislike it, as opposed to New Order releases, Monaco, Electronic, Other Two etc. where very few people were particularly critical.
Back to the point of the thread though - one of the things that has also dampened people's enthusiasm for the band and the album is the way in which it has been marketed - from the Myspace groups issue to the major-label marketing ploys such as a one-day-only offer aimed at a country where they will have more difficulty getting heard (thus pissing off alot of other people) and the release of a "deluxe" box set for £55 which you have to buy in order to (legally) get a couple of extra tracks. Many people will happily get by without the extras, but there are also a number of people who will feel compelled to buy it as they are "completists".
I realise that plenty of other bands and their labels use similar marketing ploys, but it's disappointing that BL, who are now on an independent label, should follow that pattern, especially after the way Factory went about things. Okay, Factory weren't perfect, but I never felt ripped off by them.
I've usually liked all the stuff that Barney has produced, as well as the music by the other members, but this has certainly been the most generally poorly-received effort so far. I just hope that this is just a glitch and the subsequent BL releases and the "synth" material will be alot better.
As for "allegiances" yes, I have enjoyed Hooky's bands more than Barney's but I wouldn't call that an allegiance to one party or the other, simply a musical preference.
I just went into a record shop to buy it, but it's not out yet. I won't pay to download it, can't see the point. Brotherhood was playing in the record shop though, and there was a very cute girl stacking the shelves so I hung around to hear As It Is When It Was, then left without buying anything.

No you don't. Although it seems you do have to fork out £55 to get a t-shirt. But I reckon you could make a reasonably accurate facsimile with tippex and black marker pen for a mere fraction of the cost.

Yes, sorry. Just realised that if you want to get all the tracks, you only have to buy two copies of the album. The "normal" one and the digipack...

My simple northern mind is no doubt missing something here, but this link: http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/sites/badlt/ which has been put up on here before, lists the 7" as containing "Dynamo" plus the single edit of "Sink or Swim", and costs £2.99.
I'll be parting with £10.99 for the 14-track version, and that'll probably do me.

I saw that, but the one to which you refer (t-shirt and all)is actually the Super Deluxe boxset. (£55.99) The Deluxe boxset (£39.99) also boasts a supposedly Exclusive 7 inch vinyl single. Are these two going to be different? Hardly. Seeing as "exclusive" doesn't actually mean exclusive, I am going to be sceptical and suggest that there will be no musical difference between the these supposedly exclusive 7-inchers and the separately available one.
As for the more genuinely exclusive Japanese track: personally I find that more annoying, but we have been here before, with e.g. Twisted Tenderness and Waiting for the Siren's Call. Therefore Bad Lieutenant can hardly be seen to be fleecing the fans in an unprecedented way, as has been claimed above.

That comparison was made between now and when New Order were on Factory Records. WFTSC (London Records) and Twisted Tenderness (Parlophone) were released by major labels. Thus the comparison and the suggestion that their independent label is using major label sales/marketing ploys.

Obviously - the only difference between the "Deluxe Boxset" and the "Super Deluxe Boxset" is the t-shirt...
However, it wouldn't say "Exclusive" if it meant the "Sink Or Swim" 7"?

I like collecting stuff, but really.. even though it's the first release from this new band.. why the hell would I want to buy a 7" single...
Bring me a damned CD single... I don't even own a sound system anymore, all goes on my iPhone and computer.
