Yeah, and I was out of the country for it
Supposedly there's a more extensive tour in the works for 2010- not holding my breath they'll come anywhere close. Bands usually come to Charlotte once & learn their lesson.
I hope they announce them soon, I need to be sure that NYC is the only gig I can reach or not.
23rd with Pixies in Noo Yoik.
That'd be a nice little trip - 2 gigs in 3 days in the Big Apple. ![]()
Both shows are confirmed on the Bad Lieutenant website. Already got my ticket for the Chicago show....

Isn't Chicago like closer to you than NYC?
By about an hour I think, but here's the catch. I have tickets for Echo & The Bunnymen for Nov. 18th because my girl loves them. What can you do? I'm sure if I'm up for another 6+ hour drive anyway after going to Philly see Manic Street Preachers. Toronto might be possible if I can get a passport card in time. Who knows.
Well, Bernard talks about the New York gigs as the only confirmed ones in the Rolling Stone interview... it would be so cool for me to se my two favourite bands on the same stage and see NY for the first time... but it looks sooo unlikely... the other good news is Steve is back as official member so it's New Order minus Hooky again. Finally heard Higher Wider Deeper, they're fool to hide it in the Japanese release, it's not the best track on the album, but it's really good and better than others. Has anyone bought the rip off with the 7"? Is HWD one of the two exclusive tracks or what are the titles?
Anyone think there is a chance of a Toronto show? I'm doubting it now and scared to make plans for NY at this point.

Gillian?
Any chance of Brazil's dates?
We would like to hear World in Motion before the World Cup again. It gives us luck ![]()

Are you going to see the New Order three-piece in any date?

That's a right lovely little tour, that is.
One week off work. Two cities. Four gigs. Nice.
I wouldn't spend four nights out of seven in Noo Yoik going to see that pish! It's not like you'd struggle to find any other mischief to get up to out there. Although The Pixies would be worth seeing. Once.
Anyhoo, it's all about Tenerife for me that week. Winter-sun and cooked breakfasts for 3 days. Laaaarvley.
I'm considering taking 2 days off at the beginning of that week (sucks to not have paid vacation though) to "extend" my trip for a 2nd night, but then again.. I know *one* Pixies song (Where is my mind) and support will be shorter, so I'll probably just stick to the first gig..
Yeah, quick trip to the big apple should be fun.

Pixies are just wasted on Americans/Canadians.

Ha ha yes sir, Al! That would be awesome.
My dislike of the Pixies is unacceptable to some people I know. Kim Deal is from Dayton, about 50 minutes away from me. Ohio loves the Pixies. Not me though.
I don't really care much for The Pixies, but I'm not originally from Ohio. I'd gladly swap The Pixies for anyone quality british act of roughlythe same era. Bad Lieutenant, Echo & The Bunnymen, Paul Weller, etc. At least we have Dave Wakeling now, he's a keeper.
I don't think I'll go see them this time around, the material just doesn't make the cost of the trip worthwhile.

Agreed about the Pixies. I don't care for much late '80s to mid '90's indie rock in general. Pavement, Pixies, Breeders, Guided By Voices, they all bore the shit out of. Beer swilling pub rock. Not my thing.
Chicago is a short 6 hour drive away, and I have friends I can stay with, so for me, its a cheap trip. I am taking a weel off of work, I am going to spend a week i Chicago and see one of my favorite musical heroes and inspirations play live. It's gonna be awesome.
