Manchester's biggest charity concert, Versus Cancer, is back for the fourth year running. This year's event, which raises money for local cancer charities, will take place at the MEN Arena on December 12.
The show is all about star-studded collaborations and the first names to be announced are Peter Hook, former Joy Division and New Order bassist, Andy Rourke of The Smiths, and Tim Booth, Jim Glennie and Larry Gott from local legends James. The artists will all perform with a full orchestra, courtesy of composer Joe Duddell, who worked with Elbow on their recent Bridgewater Hall shows.
Andy Rourke, Founder of the Charity said: "It's great to be back for a fourth year, we've been so lucky to get so many amazing performers to play for the cause and this year we’ll be doing loads of really unique sets, as well as getting everyone jumping up and down to the bands’ greatest hits."

One of the main beneficiaries will be the Christie hospital in Manchester. Director of the Christie charity, Toni Leden, said: "We're thrilled that once again our patients will benefit from money raised at the Versus Cancer concert, which always generates a huge buzz across the North West. The money that comes to our charity from the concert will fund extra support, care and continued research to help transform treatment for patients."
