Just got a call from El Jarvo.
Small venue, decent turn out. They played about 7 of their own songs, which he says were shit, but according to the others they were good. They also fucked up This Is Home 
Jarvo was far more happy with them playing Tighten Up, Out Of Control, Temptation, Crystal, WFTSC & Transmission, the last two being the encore 
Look forward to seeing you mad fuckers the morra

they were having a late dinner with Dermot O'Leary (official)
also the stage set list had three tracks listed for the encore and they only played Transmission. BLT and LWTUA were the two missed songs...
loved the fact that the two new guys were in awe of Barney when Temptation was playing - they were like 'hey we're on stage with New Order'

heard from a mate (not from herte, though he did post a couple of times around the john peel day gig) that it got a bit rowdy & the bouncers had to step in - aggrssive dancing again? 
transmish was dedicated to his sister as she had a jd shirt on
he also reported back on the two missing tracks from the encore on the set list
Well, I thought they were a bit shit really. But then, I don't like any of the new stuff anyways so I'm not best to judge.
Loved the New Order stuff, natch. And that's what they ended with so at least I went out on a high.
Can't believe we got the fully sequenced versions of Temptation and Out of Control (which was utterly sublime), had horrible images of them doing these as acoustic numbers. *shudder*
Their bass player dances like one of them berds in Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" video. Which is nice.
And Phil Cunningham basically stood in the wings all night. He looked like one of the road crew watching from the side.
All the old gang are still with 'em too - Dian Barton, Andy Liddle, Andy Robinson and Roger Lyons.
And is Barney working with Jake cos he's the only other frontman in the history of pop music who's actually shorter than him?
Mixed emotions, but a good outing nonetheless.
Had a jolly nice night at the front,, got steves autograph as they came out from the soundcheck,, "and our bernard how is he tonight?",, best left alone i think,, jog on then,, barney introduced phil and steve as post neworder and im diva,, cock up at the begining of this is home,, taken in good spirits,, sound was very well mixed and for a first gig band was excellent,love the new stuff and its good to go to a gig thats not predictable,, though tonight may be if they play the same set.yea bouncer went into the crowd a couple of times but he was chilled.

Out Of Control had guitar bits throughout which, IMHO, detracted from the track (apart from the very end, which is where the guitary bit is during the song, anyway)...
Tighten Up was speeded up, and (IMHO) the synths bit during the song wasn't high in the mix...

Phil played synths, btw - Roger was doing the sequencer-type stuff (I presume)?

Did the New Order tracks sound like New Order or did they sound like a band covering New Order? Before anyone points out the bleedin obvious, I know that in reality it was the latter but I'm just trying to hear "Temptation", "Crystal", and especially "Transmission" in my head without Hooky and can't!

Waiting For The Sirens Call With No Discernable Bass was a bit naff - found myself filling in the Hooky bits in my head.

The list of songs is exactly the same order as Brighton - probably will be again for Manchester - but.....
"Sirens" was dropped
and all three encores were played - LWTUA very similar to latter day New Order, but a VERY unusual version of BLT - featuring Barney on vocals, and Jake and Phil on strummed acoustic guitars!
Earlier on (around 615 - I'd just arrived in the vicinity and walked past Heaven - the doors were open and the soundcheck of LWTUA was blaring out in all its glory! Wonder what else they soundchecked with?
