Bad Loot Support Slots Setlist? — Forum Archive

Seeing as their next gig is supporting Bats For Lashes, and they've then got Pixies and PSB support slots looming as well, which stuff are they gonna take a scalpel to in their setlist?

They're probably not gonna get much more than 45mins anywhere, surely?

I'm guessing their priority is to stick with their own stuff, cos that's the work they need to be championing to a newer audience? Or will they still keep the Order stuff in place? That Out of Control / Temptation segue at the end might even be a luxury too far and use up valuable minutes in the set?

Or are they simply gonna play everything at 200mph like they've done with Tighten Up all week? :uhoh:

....and will the pet shop boys join in with them for getting away with it or even disappointed. Afterall GAWI was featured on songbook :-)

I would be over the moon with either of those two, I've never seen them performed live.

Anyway, I reckon mainly BL setlist, wtih maybe one NO/JD song thrown in.

As i own loads of PSB albums in MINTY MINT condition i am looking forward to the MAIN act too. GO WEST :hat:

I finally relented tonight and downloaded the BL album, still havent listened to it though,if i reckon its any good,i may go to the PSB gig at the SECC in December :nod: ...then again,i might not.

I think maybe LWTUA, as Neil Tennant has said he thinks it's one of the greatest pop songs ever written.

for sure theve got to cull, will be interesting if they keep the listing seperate or mix songs through the set.. as there not playing to there audience it doesnt matter so much , though lwtua should make it,, i think 10 songs max no encore and bloody hell from 297 at brighton to the O2 in a couple of months rock on Barney.

It depends how worried they are about keeping the audiences attention. Barney has little experience with being in such a slot, second slot in a larger venue. Does he have the guts to try to win the crowd over with new songs?

SKULLCRUSHER,,,,,,,W.T.F,, most of joy divisions career was as support band,,, loads of early New order was support,, futtarama 1982,, second on list to blamange ,, ,, Bernards been there before, and won hands down, no joy division songs ,, no songs released audience,, who gives a fuck.

79 is right. Barney has played second fiddle to a massive crowd loads of times. Electronic in the US for instance and even a fair few NewOrder festival appearances.

But I can see the other side too. What's gonna send a crowd away thinking about buying the album. Nine BLoot songs they've never heard before or six new tracks and a brilliant version of Temptation?

I can see Tighten Up being dropped, unless the idea is to trick the uneducated into thinking it's a BLoot track :skeptic:

I think Crystal might be an opener to get the crowd interested and OOC/Temptation will stay simply because they've spent the time programming it.

The acoustic BLT must be ditched if they don't want to get showered with bottles of piss.

I'm saying they'd keep it, because Neil loves it, and because most people in the venue would at least know the song even if they didn't realize the guy on stage singing was one of the original writers.

Thing is, if it's anything like a New Order audience there'll be no one in for the support band anyways?

I don't understand the need to get their own stuff outta the way first anyways. As you said, a Crystal opener would liven things up immediately.

I seriously doubt a PSB audience is anything like a NewOrder audience :laugh:
