NO & Ministry: same problems...

We all know about the missing beats/channel drop in Blue Monday, but it seems another classic club track suffers from the same issues. Most CD versions of Ministry's "Every Day is Halloween" are missing the first synth bass note, and there's a channel problem during the first verse. It sounds like the channels start off wrong and get "fixed" at about 1:04. There's a proper remastered version on the "Early Trax" compilation, but I can only assume the song has been screwed up before that since it first appeared on CD in 1987. Unlike NO's singles appearing in multiple versions in different countries, Wax Trax! was a small label and most likely any compilations the song appeared on used the same recording.

Why do the most important club tracks have to get screwed up like that?

I thought you were going to say they both did their best work in their ealy/mid careers and both went into the toilet before sputtering out in sub-par side projects...

Dust the plastic covers....clean the record with a quality cloth and change your STYLUS often..PLAY LOUD and up the BASS. Hide them when you PARTY.

it's a CD, named, 12" Singles.

I remember the Ministry compilation Side Trax was released in mono which stirred up a handful of complaints. I remember being pissed because the one track I bought it for was this PTP song that was in the movie Robocop, but it remained unreleased for over a decade. I thought it would be hilarious to pop it on when I used to DJ to reenact that cheesy club scene. When I finally got it, it was in mono!

Apparently you picked up the first pressing of Side Trax. The sound was later corrected, and any copies you find now are in stereo.
