I went from liking Joy Division, to getting Substance (NO), so I guess it would be several tracks from that, namely Ceremony, The Perfect Kiss, In A Lonely Place, Procession, and, in particular, 1963.

The 1st song I ever heard of them was,"Shellshock." It made me wonder about them enough to buy Low-life. But "The Perfect Kiss" is the one that made me a FAN4LIFE!

Nice being influenced by a band when you're only 10 years old child in Colombia Andrés :evil4:

yep, my dad was an influential man in Bogota night life.... he was the owner of the 3 more captivating night clubs during the 80's and 90's, so i growed up in that ambient. That's why

Blue Monday made me notice them, Confusion and Thieves Like Us made me realise they were very good but Lonesome Tonight made e realise they were way above anyone else, for so many different reasons, the chord progression in the final section just builds the whole track to the climax superbly, Hooky's bass is just fantastic, I'd never heard anything like it, even Barney snorting up a load of phlegm and gobbing it out was brilliant.

I fell for Ceremony off substance, but Movement made me realize that this love would last forever.

That's the album that made a NO fan indeed. I had heard it in my cousin's house a few months earlier I bought my albums and was caught by the sound of their music. :thumb:

It really is the lamest reason. I was mesmerized by the frog croaking in Perfect Kiss. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Hey, I was 11... stupid things catch yer attention at that age.

Soon after it was BLT and True Faith that kept me listening and wanting to listen to the entire album.

Heard True Faith on one of those classic weekends on UK music channel The Hits (now 4Music). Then I discovered Blue Monday, and the rest is history!
