I was at the Steven Morris and friends debate at MOSI yesterday and managed to have a chat with Steven who wouldnt give up what was on the bonus disc of the rereleases of the O2 stuff but did say that he has a few small tunes that he may post for free on the internet. Gillian was in the audience and she told me there should be a new o2 album coming out in october time next year!! First tme I've met them both and always neice to report they were really nice with all the punters signing autographs etc Peter Saville also turned up!!

This is fantastic news! I'm really looking forward to this. 2010 is looking pretty up right now for me: A new OMD album in the works, a new Asylum tour and possible new material from EA and the Bloody Crumpets and now a new Other Two album plus a re-released and expanded back catalog.
Great news! The other two are the only two I put any trust in nowadays concerning new order side projects.

The Other Two were always my favourite of the outside projects, really wonderful stuff, and Gillian's voice is beautiful.
Half the people who have heard O2 blaring out in my abode, upon hearing who they are, have said........"Hang on......SHE was in that band....And they let HIM sing?????????// W T Fing F?????? Were they insane?????"

Yes, they do. It's a shame the lads kept her under wraps the whole time, especially in light of this recent comment from Barn:
I’ve worked with quite a few different vocalists over the years – like Neil Tennant in Electronic and Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters on the last New Order album. Just on a practical level, having another vocalist means that I didn’t have to do as much. And everyone in the world likes not having to do so much.
I remember seeing how The Libertines had two singers in the band – I thought it was a great idea. So I thought having Jake [Evans, co-vocalist in Sumner’s new band Bad Lieutenant] would add an interesting slant on the band model. I was pretty impressed by Jake when I first saw him sing.
Have to say I'm a lot more interested in this than the other side projects.
