'Get Ready' session tracks on TPOIT

Some amazing stuff just showed up on TPOIT...seems to be the go-to place for all worthwhile rare/unreleased things JD/NO wise.

Anyway... that tracklisting/"review" on worldinmotion has pretty much been discredited has it not? No tracks with those working titles have ever been uncovered, and the descriptions are so vague as to apply to virtually any selection of tracks in their catalog!

Nice to see some of these Brutal workouts. IMHO the versions up to the 9/29 monitor mix are better than the final released version.

yeah i remember that on WIM around 1999,it was a fake tracklist that Old Blue (?) did and admitted years later it was in fact him that had dreamt all the titles up

As far as the WFSTC leftovers, do you realise it's been 5 years since they were recorded. I believe Barney took these songs to BL and in form or another they're all on Never Cy Another Tear.

Anyway, who can help me with .rar files? I cannot open them, how do you play them?

I downloaded WINRAR & used that, then downloaded 'Flac frontend' to decode the FLAC files into WAV. I may have lost some quality but at least I can hear the tunes now.

I didn't mean the original recordings but maybe lyrics, melodies - they're very similar. Plus, we know NO always used up all the material they worked with into their songs. Secondly Crystal was meant to be an obscure German release but then was given to NO. Why not vice versa. Just a thought.

seriously, New Order should have put this out all raw like this... far more interesting. More electro and New Ordery...

i like being able to hear all the synths going on.

and the lyrics are mixed clearer, more immediate.

The early version of Get Ready does sound refreshing. I agree, a little rawer and more indie New Ordery sounding. That version of Close Range is nice, and the record just works so much better if they had left out the horrible misstep Rock the Shack, and left in Player in the League.... Slow Jam is even more tolerable that way. Rock the Shack contaminates the tracks before and after, it is just so ill advised. Crystal could have always avoided that embarrassing female vocal intro thou, it is so dorky.

But it has a certain naive charm to it. Especially as Jake sings it now.

THESE listed above are the infamous fake joke tracks Spotnick refered to earlier...

The Power of Independent Trucking Website RAR files people are talking about are actual unofficial recordings. There are some spotty demo tracks in one set, and an early cut of the Get Ready album in the other set.

I've got somewhere at home a cd called "Not Yet Ready" think it's Get Ready Promo, not sure.

Turn My Way without Billy Corgan was great! What a treat. The Mission Impossible theme was also really good, probably my favorite take on it that I've heard. They were really sounding good during that period, it's too bad they couldn't keep the fire going that much longer. They really fell off the mark after Get Ready. Oh well, I like the non-confrontational, enjoyable music they make now too. Everything has there positives.
