Their new single is getting a fair bit of airing, but I don't really see much in common with New Order from what I have heard.

The only real connection with new order is they're from manchester and the play keyboards and guitars, a few people on here have said they sound like new order, but I don't think they're that heavily influenced by them.

Every track I've heard by them so far has been great, and I've got he CD on pre-order.

I checked them out a while back and honestly I'm not impressed.

I do like them,they remind me of a cross between FRIENDLY FIRES and ORBITAL.

This is going to be the first cd that I buy in the new year.

I've heard of them through the music magazines here, but I think they're overrated and too hyped up.

I don't see the resemblance to NO. Their sound is too lightweight, especially the vocals.

saw them support Orbital and they're on with Doves on Friday. Very 80's electro. but nobody in the 80's had weedy sixth form geek vocals. this is what the Inbetweeners would sound like if they had a band. in lots of top 10 for 2010. but then : bbc sound of... 2009:white lies 2008:adele and duffy 2007:mika 2006:corinne bailey ray 2005 : the bravery 2004:keane 2003:50 cent

I don't really like them at all, I don't hear anything interesting in their sound or melodies. It would be nice to see a new band come out that is as talented and melodic as New Order, but that's hopeful dreaming.

Yeah! I saw Delphic on Jools Holland's BBC2 Later show about a month ago. Have to say I thought they were pretty bloody good. And it did occur to me they sounded a bit like New Order circa 81-83. Not completely but definitely some elements.

I first heard 'Doubt' a few weeks back on the Radio 2 Radcliffe & Maconie show as I was driving to Wolverhampton from Manc with my missus.

I didn't know anything about them, and both me and Mrs Noorder agreed that it sounded like New Order on drugs (oh the irony!). this was followed by both Messrs Radcliffe and Maconie saying the same (without the drugs reference).

We thought they were worth further investigation, which we did, and I have to say beyond 'Doubt' I haven't been that impressed.

Still 'Doubt' is a good track. Certainly better than Shit Leftenant.

A band that has more in common with JD and early NO is Cold Cave. Please check their album out 'Love Comes Close' on Matador Records. I rate this album very highly

amen to that - one song's almost a copy of temptation, even down to paraphrasing the lyrics err though thtere is this thread

the delphic thing has been going round all year, sure it has been mentioned on here a few times, they have one song that samples kraftwerk, i'm sure of it
