Irvine Meadows 16 June 1989

TPOIT has posted a remastered version of New Order's Irvine Meadows gig from June 1989. It's stellar.

I would love to hear this, but I cannot and never have been able to open RAR files on my computer....do I need to download some kind of special player or converter?

the songs are flac files, u need a flac to mp3 converter program

Or find a player that can read them directly.

I'm using VLC Media Player, which you can find quite easily online and download for free.

Someone recommended Super as a converter and Foobar to burn cds, but I've not tried these yet.

My third New Order gig.

Fantastic sound and lighting but the performance wasn't as good (likely due to the aforementioned band tension) as the Santa Barbara show I attended on April 30th of that year.

I recall in an interview that Hooky was really down about the band meeting that afternoon. After being told that Barney need a break from the band, they were stuck in traffic due to all their fans coming to see this show.

This is one of my favourite live performances: Didn't realise this was the gig where Bernard announced his first split from the band though, that's rather sad. I can tell there's an air of tension and melancholy that hangs over it and the dedication to Pete at the beginning is quite touching. The performances, on the other hand, sound great: I love these renditions of Ceremony, Temptation and Bizarre Love Triangle particularly. Can't wait to here it remastered!

Are you using a Mac? Stuff it expander works o.k., but I recently found unRARX works great - it's a free download
