Fancy as that is and all, when do we get more NEW ORDER lost music? I do need something to sit next to the Basement tapes 84 and 88 demos.

If it is real, apparently Hannett and Wilson were not impressed. There a couple of other out of character tracks out there, interesting to hear but hardly changing Joy Division's legacy.

...yes I noticed that - lucky I pinched the lyrics for here before they got deleted. There was also another long rambling post about the origins of the tape. Also Darkman reckoned the first rehearsal version of Mesh was actually recorded as Joy Division rather than New Order.

I never bought or wore a Green or grey Joy Division raincoat. I think i did marvel at them though, sitting on the steps of Birmingham Powerhouse that barmy June Sunday night in 1984, waiting to get into what would have been my first New Order gig (as it turned out we were refused entry for being too young).All those remnants of what must have been those unbelievably dramatic JD gigs of not so many years previously.I spotted those tape recorders hidden undercover.What a time of opportunity lay ahead before U2 released The Unforgettable Fire and ruined the 80s.All that early 80s industrial wasteland long before...

Thanks for clearing that up, I'd have never known as I can only sit through 2 versions of Blue Monday 88.

It's not the first time there, someone has jumped on and said they had something ultra rare and non-one else was going to get a copy. Strangely enough, the other guy who did that with the "Plan K" footage some years ago, was from the USA also, like Dickman and he had nothing either!

Go figure.

I used to have this cassette that a close NYC friend gave me, called Electricity, it was 8 songs on a cassette and documented the songs New Order worked on between PCL and Low-Life.... but Sumner thought it sounded too electro for 1985 and they tossed the whole thing.

Pretty sure i have the cassette in a box in my basement, if anyone in interested...

Bumped into Gillian in a baggage claim, we chatted it up over a nice Burger king lunch and she gave me a rare CD. On it we have every song on movement sung by Steve, and a rare track called "papillon". Some interesting stuff, I'm not allowed to share this though, but will post lyrics and 30 second clip later.

I've got a flexi of Curtis strumming Blue Monday on an acoustic guitar, I'd say he was a better guitarist than Bernard on this recording, very talented

I also have a super rare recording of Gillian singing Shellcock.

HOW COULD YOU!? Can't you see this song surpasses all other Joy Division tracks? Hence the rarity, and the little teases we're dropped.
