I have that Brotherhood "tour rehearsals" cassette - this is only part of it.

Quite a few of the tracks are soundcheck from a gig at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

There are a couple of cool things on it, but it's mostly, like, the sequencers running their parts with no vocals, guitar, or bass while the guy at the mixing desk tries to get the levels right.

I'm rather fond of the run-through of Angel Dust. That song always sounded so much better live, and it's cool to hear how it's changed around from the version on Brotherhood. It actually has the vocals - all that's missing is Hooky.

This particular copy is taken directly from the studio recording via the mixer desk and is therefore second generation.

That doesn't make sense, and if it did it still wouldn't be true.

As Jeb has said, they're all soundchecks. Recorded at the venue, not a studio. And they are audience recordings, though there isn't actually an audience there...

Don't let that put you off - they're all good quality and make for an interesting listen.

I've had a listen and you're right. Good quality. Sounds like someone gave them a load of misinformation with the recording though. I've heard that version of LWTUA before somewhere too, wasn't sure where.

I know there are at least a couple of genuine "rehearsal" recordings around, or at least, stuff that's labelled as "demos".

Yeah it is! Has anyone Blue Monday from this gig as the flac of it in the file is corrupt and therefore doesn't unpack. Cheers.

Ps What was all that bollocks about Barney hurting his foot? First he was shot in Vietnam and then a shark bit it. Yeah, right!

Strange it worked for me? Gods knows what the issue with his foot was.

Worked for me too Al. Try unzipping the whole thing again from the files you downloaded. Occasionally there's a glitch with .zip and .rar files - either in the unzipping stage or in the downloading :thumb:

Looks like Julio might mess his pants over the latest update
