Allan,

Last week I just got my hands on that nifty pin you got made for the "New Order 2002 Tour" (sorry, I hadn't seen Nicolas in ages before that).

I just wanted to thank you for that, and ask two questions which may be of public benefit (Spotnick told me you answered these once but... can't remember):

What does represent the triangles logo on the pin?
Why "THE VIKINGS" ? How does this apply to New Order? (the only reference coming to my mind is that Select Magazine mentionned Hooky as being the "lovelorn viking" or something like that in september 1993).

When will you stop refering to that Select magazine from 93 ? Ever since I've known you, it seems it's the only magazine you ever had.

"The Vikings" is from the Kirk Douglas film of the same name - New Order occasionally used its theme as incidental music in the 80's. Pre-gig, or between encores, whatever.

The triangles are actually Borromean triangles - wanted a helmet or something to symbolise 'Vikings' but the design looked sh*te and apparently the triangles appeared on Viking insignia, or something, and look simplistic, yet striking, on the badge.

Truth of the matter is Al loves Bizzare Love Triangle, especially live. Gives him a chance to check up on the missus.
