OK, maybe I'm absent-minded or just plain thick (as a brick), but what exactly is "3 16" supposed to stand for?

Wasn't the DVD supposed to be out at first on March 16th, or on March, 6th, 2001 or something ?
Then it was delayed to April. Twats.
As I said before (long ago, in fact), this CD contains the Taras Shevwhatever concert at the Ukrainian home in New York (I think). This video recording starts with cyrilic letters appearing on the screen: "epsilon" (which looks like a mirrored 3), "i" and a sort of "b" wich looks like a squared 6. Graphically, it really looks like 3 16.
Doesn't it have something to do with John 3:16? One of the most famous verses in the Bible, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son", etc. 
The band can't have been totally oblivious to this connection, surely...
Only it strikes me was something maybe a bit pretentious, whereas NewOrder aren't really, even if Tony Wilson is...
you all have it wrong...it refers to 3 minutes and 16 seconds...the exact time it takes Barney to consume one alcoholic beverage...
unless it's an american beer, then he takes one drink and spits the shit right out...but that's another story!!!

Really? I was sure it was March 16th, 3 16, the date it was SUPPOSED to be released.
One of their famous mythical confusion-causing things again. 3 16 has so many references......the date one isn't relevant though, as in the UK it would be 16 3 - we don't put the month first like the rest of the world seems to ! I think that the given title stems from the cyrillic lettering that appears at the beginning of Taras Shevchenko.
Well, we don't NEITHER put the month in front, here it would be 16-3-2001
At least in Québec, I think our english neighbours that surrounds us use the month first.
You've got all the Tours and Concerts dates "arsebackards" though (colloquial english for "the wrong way round" :))

hence all this y2k bollox we had when many systems thought it was 01/01/00 ie: the year nought!
anyway 3+1+6 = 10
