FREEBASS FIRST GIGS ANNOUNCED

Slightly mixed review of the 101 gig in the Times,fairly complimentary about the vocalist though.

Doh! I was so looking forward to Hooky bringing on some extra special guests for his gigs. People such as John Taylor from Duran Duran, Mark King from Level 42, Nick Beggs from Kajagoogoo, Mick Karn from Japan and Pino Palladino from Paul Young's backing band.... then there'd be EIGHT bass players all trying to outwank one another up there on stage....

A bit of devil's advocate here, but...

Has Andy Rourke made an appearance as live performer in Freebass yet? If not, applying the logic applied elsewhere, should they really be calling themselves 'Freebass' on the live circuit given a founding member is absent?

Hooky's on record for having a go at BL for playing NO and JD stuff live, presumably because the BL line-up is at best 3/4 NO and 1/2 JD, but he seems to overlook the fact that the touring Freebass is only 3/4 of the actual Freebass lineup...isn't that a bit inconsistent?

Like I said, just a bit of the old devil's advocate here... :evil:
