Anybody have any idea where I can get this documentary legitimately? I've looked all over, it can't be downloaded from the BBC, and doesn't seem to be available for purchase as a CD or DVD from anywhere. There are a bunch of torrents of it, but they all seem to be copies of the same version which has lots of skips in the audio which ruins the experience.
Does anybody know if there's any place to get this? It was a 2 part BBC radio documentary narrated by John Peel that came out in 1993.
If I remember rightly it was first aired in 1987/8. Co-narrated by Janice Long. I have it on cassette somewhere.

If that is the one then I've got a digital version I can make available, but from memory that particular documentary was called 'Substance', not 'How Does It Feel'.

The first part was called "Here are ahe young men" (or something like that), and the next part was called "Now that we've grown up together"... In fact, I *think* that the documentary was called "Substance", so maybe it wasn't the same one?

I was about to say that!, I had it on a single c120 tape, which, as all c120 tapes did, became a tangled mess after 4 years of listening. so unfortunately I don't have it, but I'm not sure if that program is the one the original post is refering to.
I'm not sure if they're the same or different programs either.

There's a recording running around on the net but it's really annoying because there are large skips in the audio where a word or five disappears, and these skips happen throughout.

Was going to dig these interviews out tonight, but I like the idea of someone else doing it. Good lad 
The beginning of this "How Does It Feel" documentary starts with Blue Monday in the background, John Peel introducing the band, and then Barney saying over the top of it: "I think the thing with New Order is that the whole band were recruited not on their musical ability, but on their ability to get on with each other. So I guess that's why we stuck together so long."
A bit later Peel says "This Mancunian pop outfit released their 7th studio album, Republic, after a 3 year absence."
Republic came out in 1993 so it sounds like this particular Peel documentary isn't the same as the 1988 one.
Btw, Barney's quote cracked me up considering his relatively recent BL interview where he says almost the exact same thing 17 years later. I guess he really means it. :)
