Jake's just Twitter'd to say Bad Loo's flight has been cancelled as Manchester Airport is closed. UK airports are grinding to a halt because of dangerous flight-affecting volcanic ash which has originated from Iceland and is now blowing over the UK.

Check the BBC web site for more info, (while its a news item).

The forecast is it will clear later on today so there is hope flights will resume tomorrow. The San Fran gig is still scheduled to take place but it would be worth checking Bad Loo's social network sights on a regular basis to get the up to date picture. I'm sure they'll confirm when their able to depart the UK.

It doesn't look too likely they'll get there anytime soon, I reckon San Fran will be off, maybe even Coachella.

No flights out of Northern Europe at the moment - i.e. they'd have to get to Spain/Portugal first...

Also, all Eurostar/Ferries have quickly been booked up...

Sheesh, that's making Coachella look extremely doubtful. Expect a message on that in the morning.

This is where the authorities can see no sign of an improvement and all they can do is set the next review time.

Some reports are saying it will remain the same for another 48 hours. If Friday and Saturday are wipe-outs that puts the rest of the tour in serious jeapardy. Sunday...all people who are booked for then will take priority and you've got 3 days of backlog fighting for attention. At least BL going business class should make them a priority, It's the little people like me who'd be screwed.

While I'm upset about holding tickets for Bad Lieutenant in San Francisco, my thoughts are turning to all the UK acts scheduled to appear at Coachella. This could be devastating to the Festival.

I'm still going to S.F. tomorrow, the hotel is paid for and we've got tickets for a Phoenix gig in Santa Cruz on the way home. Of course, that may end up being cancelled along with my plans to see Echo & the Bunnymen on the 19th and Delphic on the 22nd. The Bunnymen were also scheduled to do an instore at Best Buy in S.F. on the 20th.

We were one of the last flights to leave Heathrow on Thursday morning. My mate Dave wasn't so lucky. He was due to fly Virgin to LA an hour and a half later than us and they cancelled it whilst he was sat on the plane waiting to go. 10 minutes earlier and the flight would've gone. He's booked on a Sunday afternoon flight but his Coachella is written off. :(

Just cancelled my whole trip.

The airline, Delta, can only get me out to Chicago on April 20th, which is after the gig. Then all the other connections move on 4 days too. So I would miss all the gigs.

Got a full refund of £400.

Just looked at booking with another airline - £1200!!. So that's not happening.

Wouldn't be surprised if the whole tour was pulled to be honest. But hope the Chicago and NYC dates do go ahead for the sake of those who've got tickets.

Ah well, such is life.

Just canceled for Coachella:

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 16, 2010 — Having exhausted every possible scenario to make their way to the United States from their UK homes, the members of Bad Lieutenant – Bernard Sumner, Phil Cunningham, Jake Evans, Stephen Morris and Tom Chapman – have determined that there is simply no way for them to play at tomorrow’s Coachella festival. The volcanic ash cloud formed by the eruption of Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano on Wednesday continues to keep British airspace closed and all flights in and out cancelled.

The band is very disappointed not to be able to play for their fans.

The Scottish & Irish airports are back up and running, so it shouldn't be long till the English ones are as well. Hopefully they will be able to play the US next week :)

Unfortunately, Delphic has cancelled their Coachella and S.F. gigs due to the Icelandic blowjob.

Booked a ferry today from Holyhead to Dublin for Wednesday morning as a plan B for LCD Soundsystem but I'm not holding out much hope that they will actually be able to get over from the States. :\ohwell:

I went into the beer garden at the back of the pub today and on each table was a small container full of ash!!!! this is freaking me out, f*cking ash everywhere, the local chimney sweep was covered in it, bastard volcano!

Well, I guess the Coachella "buy all three days" event that I was bitchin' about earlier was a blessing in disguise. Not surprising, any time I've ever had a chance to see NO, or a side project, something always got in the way. Sorry guys its probably my bad luck and fault.:dead:
