I think the H man is spot on there - I have long been interested in putting together a duplicate set of the bands live instruments and have so far purchased a Sequential Circuits synth and the old Yamaha RX11 drum machine which replaced their Oberheim DMX - however....
My latest "toy" is the bands Emulator III which I am currently doing my best to coaxe into full operation.
I did the predictable thing of sampling the male choir from "Blue Monday" just to satisfy my boyhood dream of playing that part myself! It's an old instrument but it still produces the most amazing sounds - I believe the band had 2 Emu-Systems "Emulator IIIs"; One for live use and the other for studio use. The one I have is the light gray model which tells me on the digital read out hat it was last updated on February the 11th 1993 - any significance there? Also, are there any other forum members who have ANY experience with this sampler? I know that the hard disk contains many of the bands original samples but as yet I'm struggling to access them properly. Next stop Voyetra!
