Hooky's Hondo Rickenbacker copy

How long did Hooky use this for? I've a feeling it wasn't long, most JD footage has him using the Yamaha.

Actually the Yamaha didn't show up until pretty late - end of 79 at the very earliest, but more likely not until 1980, is my guess. Most of the JD pictures I've seen have the Hondo; the only JD stuff I've seen with the Yamaha is the LWTUA "video". He played the Hondo at Les Bains Douches on 17 Dec 1979:

Must've been a welcome upgrade when it came. Didn't have the Yamaha very long either, as it was nicked in September of 1980, IIRC.

Probably recovered though as he seems to be using it in 1981 at Granada Studios for Celebration (minus that crappy plastic scratchplate, which he probably removed).

It's a different bass as there are no screw holes where the shite scratchplate was.

The Hondo is not that bad - Mine is bloody good when you think its over 30 years old!!!
