Is the internet winding me up? Is there a version of Krafty with Bernard singing in Japanese?

And where can I get a copy?!

It was a bonus track on the Japanese release of WFTSC (I have it, btw).

The lyrics were 'translated' by a member of the rock band Asian Kung Fu Generation, and the Japanese lyrics were made to rhyme to the English language lyrics with not so much focus on matching the song's theme to the English lyrics.

The mp3 issue is a bit of a grey area but this is a rare region specific track, you see.

PS- According to the booklet that came along with the CD that I have (w/ lyrics and commentary by a journalist), the Japanese record company approached the band about bonus tracks. Bernard suggested singing Krafty in Japanese. He said that he saw the enthusiasm of the fans here at Fuji Rock Festival 2001 and he said that he wanted to give the fans something in return.

When they played in 2001 it was the first time that they played here in more than 10 years.

I've got the Japanese import of WFTSC in my car, and it makes me crack up every time, if only cos the backing vocals 'one more time/one more dayyyyy/give me a second chance etc etc' are in English.

That's true. I suppose they just used the existing backing track.

Cool, it sounds pretty nice although it does remind me of an episode of Friends where Joey appears in a Japanese advert for man lipstick.

Controversial I know.....

But I prefer the Japanese version of it! Maybe it's the comedy aspect of it

My wife said the lyrics made sense, but that they sounded like lyrics to a really cheesy Jap pop group. She also mentioned that that he had great pronunciation, but that his singing was on par with bad Karaoke aided by too much beer.

Yes, because the Japanese lyrics were written by a Japanese guy.

As for pronunciation we can tell he tried, and I've heard far worse attempts by other non Japanese musicians.
