so I donwloaded a song called 'player in the league' off of audiogalaxy when it was still up, and so i bought the cd single for here to stay but although \player in the league\ is a great song, it isn't the one I was looking for. The one I am looking for is an instrumental song with a cool Peter Hook bassline. Anyone know which song I am talking about? And how I can get it? Thanks.

yeah I know there was a fake going round, but this mystery song was definately New Order, it was definately Peter hooks bass.
the fake was terrible and sounded remotely like New Order but obvious to anyone that it wasn't Bernard Sumner singing.

You are talking about a track with a lenght of 2:32, right? This is a bogus "Player In The League" widely available at Audiogalaxy when it was still alive and kicking. This is "Naked" from The Flir. Actually, this is only the backing track of the song as the full version also got lyrics. If you are still interested in it you can buy Flir album at their website.

And, for the record, the Flir track is the one I had chosen two years ago for our April Fool's joke, when we went out and said we had an exclusive new track from New Order and it was called "Synthesized".
It was probably the biggest number of downloads/day the site ever had in its history. HAHAHAHA
well, that song is great and let me tell you it sounds EXACTLY like Peter Hook. Is that Hook on the bass? Jesus, what a dupe job, it's almost as if Puff Daddy sampled Hooky.
