Seconded.
It took all that time for this?

yep yep! the bands name describes what and how the album sounds like... lame.
bernard and bl gets ![]()
Can't agree with the above comments, some of the tracks sound quite promising actually,I hadn't downloaded it so this is my first time hearing it but I am looking forward to hearing it in it's entirety now.

I thought the same thing but after a couple of listens it grew on me and it is a very good album, just give it couple of listens, in my opinion only two duds on the albun, the rest is very good.

We'll have to agree to disagree my friend.
yeah, if like me you are not a fan of the vocalist who is all over that Freebass record, then it is pretty tough to listen to.
I don't know where to post this, and I don't intend to make anyone feel negative, but I kind of wonder about the future of Freebass. (Although you could say a similar thing about BL). Andy Rourke has left, and most of the touring for the rest of this year isn't Freebass, but the Peter Hook and his friends playing Unknown Pleasures thing.
Well, Mani has posted some rants against Hooky on Twitter, and it sounds kind of ugly. I'm not slagging off Mani, or Hooky for that matter, but this article sums it up.

Im going to stick my neck out here and say that those words didnt come from Mani. That accounts been hacked into. I dont care how pissed off he may or may not be he's got more nous than to start posting things like that.
Maybe it was someone from on here (joke).
EDIT:Is that even a genuine site?

crikey... if that's real... ![]()
here's hoping it isn't.
It is Mani's account indeed. The account is Maniscream if anyone wants to go to Twitter. The site is a real site not some fake site.
I'm not trying to spread any gossip; I just hope it's not too serious.

Well if those were Mani's thoughts, they sound terminal. Does anyone know why the London gig was cancelled last week, or do we add 2 + 2?

You're not spreading gossip you're sharing something very interesting, whether its Manis words or not.

That review from Chis is hilarious.

Stinker innit?
It's the biggest dissapointment served up from any NO member. The 5 years wait just raised expectation to a level that could never be fulfilled - add to that it's a poor album anyway (they are great performers not song writers, what did they expect?) and this is the outcome.
Not in the same league as BL.

I have listened to the album many times and it is not as bad as people say it is, in my opinion it is a very solid good album.
This'll intensify Hooky's mistrust of the internet. As well as being a haven for those nasty thieving downloaders, first we have New Order's demise being aided and abetted by Myspace, and now Freebass' stillbirth has been revealed to the few still interested through Twitter.
Expect the press release of the next Hooky venture to be distributed via carrier pigeon (unless the Mondays get the revival bug and feed them warfarin)
This is all a big mess isn't it? First Barney and Hooky having it out in the papers, now Mani having it out with Hooky over twitter, the next bout will probably be with pistols.
After months of trying this is officially the first NO-related project I can't stomach much less listen to in a whole sitting. 30 second clips might even be a stretch.

Seems the other two bassists in the band agree and have jumped ship.

I've just read that and had what only could be described as a "mega wince".
I get the feeling that we haven't heard Freebass' best work
I think we have, Chris. I really think we have ![]()

ok ok.. took the bait.
Oh Mr Nash, if i thought you had a tongue in your cheek every time you posted this stuff, then perhaps I could read it and respect it a bit more. Your tongue has clearly been elsewhere.
'With the departure of Andy Rourke, Freebass will possibly take a slightly different musical direction, we'll have to wait and see if that's a good thing.'
don't ya just love it?

Wow. Is this jealousy, sour grapes or an inferiority complex?
Why are people here so spiteful? ![]()

Still bitter over the remasters, and there hasn't been a chart posted in ages!
