This signing lark is getting out of hand....

No,what's getting out of hand is double cd versions of albums where the 2nd disc is made up of instrumental versions of the same tracks off CD1! Seriously,who the fook wants that!! Is that what they think people want?! It's upto the buyer I s'pose,but it's fookin beyond me!

Even the track listing for the recently announced "The God Machine" single is entirely made up of LP tracks we already have. Plus the recent 5 track Arthur Baker "You Don't Know (This About Me)" remix EP is essentially just one new remix with the rest of the package bulked out by either songs we already have or instrumentals of songs we already have. If you bought the Two Worlds Collide EP which no doubt most people buying anything Freebass related will have then there's loads of duplication involved and it's frankly shite value for money.

Thats the thing I don't get, BL offered the CD plus a download, hell even had the album in ALAC from the get go, and were still criticized. Freebass is just now releasing the cd and that just kindof seems iffy to me, like you said people already own this, why splurge on the same tracks? I guess it's a bit biased, but I'd rather just get the album than EP's or remixes.

I suppose that if, a physical release date were announced along with digital releases, then those who prefer the physical formats can wait until that promised or scheduled date to get the music in that format (without having to buy digital). At least, you'd know when it will be released in physical (even if you had to wait a bit) so you wouldn't be buying the same album twice or wasting your money.

I do admit if the mixes are the same, having the same songs would be boring.

But at least that's somewhat better than letting people be anxious, making them say 'When is it gonna be released!'. Ideally, of course, it'd be the best if both digital and physical formats were released the same day.

Also, it's nice if you want to sing along to it. Like karaoke, you know? Sometimes, singles by Japanese artists have instrumental versions as additional tracks---they sometimes call them 'Karaoke versions' for obvious reasons.

record store appear to have jumped the gun there, considering that info has not been confirmed to them yet and the outcome might not prove to be what they've said.

For the record, aforementioned cds are actually in my flat at the moment.

I can now confirm that these cds will now be despatched early next week signed by Hooky, Mani and Gary.
