True Faith

First time I have heard it in ages. Can you get a better single ? Fantastic Song / B-side / Video / Sleeve / Remixes. In my opinion ,nothing can beat it as a package

Also ,did it save New Order? It was looking a bit ropey for them before they released it - UK chart position : Shellshock - 28 / State of the Nation - 30 /BLT - 56

I think it's one of their best songs.

Great song, hookys bass sounded really odd on it live though. One of the tracks that you could use to draw people into NO.

I love the version on the Peel Session, too. Weird how it sounds so different and yet its clearly still True Faith. Actually I prefer the Peel version to the Perfecto mix its taken from.

I'm like that with the "glasgow" and Reading 98 versions. They are far better than their root material.

Call me old-fashioned, but I like the original 1987 Hague-version (not so much the Shep Pettibone Remix, although it's not bad, especially the middle (bridge-)part of the bass).

That version is a stone cold classic, theres really nothing else like it in the NO catalogue.

When I first heard it and saw the video when I was 15 I thought it was the greatest thing ever... Then I saw the 12" sleeve and fell in love with New Order forever...

Its a really great New Order track! One of my favourites. :)

My older brother introduced me to New Order by playing his Substance tapes, but I only discovered True Faith when it was playing in a night club in the 1987 movie Bright Lights, Big City (Michael J. Fox). It sounded so fresh and contemporary, and before the '94 re-release I feared I would never hear it again, not realising that radio stations with the imagination of the Loch Ness Monster would play the same songs over-and-over again! True Faith is easily New Order's best song.

TF was also in the movie 'The American Psycho' when Patrick Bateman entered the dance club in the beginning.

I love the cover. Til this day, I would buy the 12" whenever I see one.

Richie Hawtin (the well-known (well to some of u, canadian uberminimal-techno-dj) dropped True Faith (Shep Pettibone remix) in his set @ Amnesia/Ibiza last monday (wel it was tuesday already)..

This is one of my all time favourite New Order songs, I never tire of listening to it - an absolute classic.

I love the video and I even have the 12" single in a frame in my dining room.

The Shep Pettibone remixes and 1963 got me into New Order. Must have listened to them hunderds of times on the Walkman on my way to school back in the day. Next was Substance and soon "everything". Never get tired of TF.

I may be alone in this, but I like the full 94 edit, less reverb, louder vocals for Bernard, plus the TWA Grim Up North mix is class.
