Met Hooky in New Zealand - 2nd Night (03/10/2010)

Finally got to meet Hooky after the Sunday night gig at the Powerstation in Auckland. Got some photos/video. Managed to talk my way backstage and met Jack and the band also. All nice people. Great experience and shared some photos with Hooky that I took in 1987 when New Order played the same venue. He was interested enough for me to email them to him - which I have done.

Was interesting talking to him about all and sundry, although I was surprised he couldn't remember which LP 'Ecstacy' was on. New Order is still definitely a touchy point. Bloody nice guy - even offered me a slice of chocolate cake they were scoffing for Dianne Barton's (sound engineer) birthday.

Got treated to 'Atmosphere' and 'Ceremony' which was a nice surprise. Told him he should have trotted out 'Dreams Never End' too. His response was that he didn't bring the 6 string bass. Said he was going to tour 'Closer' in May, and then Movement and PCL a year or two down the track! So if he comes back down under, suggested we could here them then. Take that as you wish.

Completed a 27 year wait for me. Great night.

Nice one. Sounds like you had a great night. Looking forward to the Closer tour. Bit dubious about him doing the NO albums but if he does I will go.

Ignoring the sarcasm, that means that maybe in 2/3/4 years or so he'll be resurrecting Ad Infinitum

Bloody knew it! I love Hooky but there is really no need for him to tour the back catalogue. Republic in about 2016 should be interesting. And probably awful.

If he does indeed tour the old albums I reckon we'll all rip the shit out of him for it then go along and watch anyway! PS Great post Mr Monster.
