WISH LIST

Given the (possibly permanent?) split of New Order, I doubt Warners (or whoever gets to hold the back catalogue) will invest much time in packaging any new CDs (other than botched "Best Of" compilations and dodgy remasters).

However, It would be nice to see some N.O. material given a digital release on iTunes. Surely it would not cost anything to do? No marketing necessary, just put it on iTunes and slap a post on neworderonline that it's available and all us hardcore fans will go and buy it? N.O. get a bit of money, the record company get to squeeze a couple of bucks out of it and the fans get what they want - everybody wins

My personal wish list would include:

The 7 unused tracks from the WFTSC album sessions. The 2002 Arthur Baker "Confusion" remixes (full versions, not edits please). WFTSC Tribute mix I Told You So (Stuart Price remix) Plus maybe some of tracks that were on the limited 12" vinyls released a couple of years back.

What would you add?

P.S. If any of you bump into Hooky, Barney or Steve, see if you can pester them about the 7 unreleased WFTSC tracks ;-)

Don't worry New Order will get back and we will hear new music from them, just give it a little bit more time. I would love to add a new cd by them in my collection , with a nice packaged cd with some nice great artwork. By some the sounds of these interviews we will see them soon or maybe not.

Speaking of fallouts, whenever we speak to true New Order fans, they can't believe there won't be any new material from you...

We have an album in the can - or most of one, at least - which is left over from the Sirens sessions [New Order's Waiting For The Sirens Call, 2005]. We always did have. They [Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris] have the majority vote but we can't get it together to sort it out, which is a shame.

Was it a difficult decision to play these songs without Stephen and Bernard? Were you worried about what they would think?

“Well I'm used to being without Stephen and Bernard now and to be honest with you it’s quite liberating because I always found New Order’s reluctance to play live was a real thorn in my side. So I'm absolutely delighted now that I can do it. I’d much prefer to do it with them but that isn’t possible. So this is my next best thing, really.”

I'm inclined to agree with Linus on this

I may be reading too much into things, but in interviews of both Bernard and Hooky recently the pokes at each other have become much more jokey. I've no doubt Hooky is still on good terms with Steve, they did some promotional stuff together just after the split, and by the sound of it, they probably talked when they were on the plane together recently, and I should think steve is a good mediator between the two parties.

We just need to wait for BL to run its course and things will get back on track, I've no doubt a few people on here will say whatever they do won't be as good as PC&L or Technique, but at least it will be new, and I for one am holding on to a little bit of hope.

BTW, will you be updating your avatar for Frank Kelly's new role?

I read somewhere on here that there exists alternative versions of the Republic tracks, less Hague more New Order. They'd be nice.

if that exisis that would be fantastic, IMO hague didn't know what to do with Hooky's bass, so left it out, look at how much additional bass is in Arthur Bakers mix of 1963.

What ever happened to the ace version of Dream Attack - the demo from NOOL Radio is a beast! I was so disappointed when i heard the real version of it

As for my wish list. Fuck reforms and tours tbh.

Get back together and get all these bootlegs and footage out there along with Plan K, at least it'll stop Hooky from dredging everything back up for dance, bossanova remixes

It is a wish list after all and i imagine Alex Staszko has got the majority of them all anyway
