What is it about the Substance version of True Faith that I love so much?

I don't know why, but I really lover the Substance version of True Faith. I think it's head and shoulders above the original and all other remixes/re-incarnations. The Substance version is so magical. It's the perfect length and the breakdown in the middle is unparalleled as far as I'm concerned.

I cannot understand why this particular version has STILL not been re-released on *ANY* other New Order CD to date! Not on the Brotherhood remaster, not on the Best of, not on any of the compilations, NOWHERE! It's really strange if you ask me. Is this a deliberate decision by the record company?

I guess you have to wait untill the next 'fuck up' from Rhino somewhere in the near future.

Anyway, have a nice day :thumb:

Which is why I hope I won't lose my Substance CD...(although I do like the Grim Up North remix [whatever that was called, sorry can't remember the proper remix name] re-released in 1994 as well).

Some cases might be explained by song length. I think True Faith 94 (on the Best of New Order) was shorter than the one on Substance, so maybe that's why they used that one instead.

Still, the one on Substance is the best, IMO.

This version's just the same as the original 12" isn't it?

Wasn't it also on 'Singles' (though over limited)?

... TWA Grim Up North mix. Just before I gave up being a completist!

The Substance version of True Faith is so good you could wonder why there was ever a need for any of the subsequent remixes of it,same goes for Blue Monday.

Thank you; I forgot about the TWA part.

Very interesting. Ya learn something new everyday :)

The fact that you were aware of this and I wasn't, means there's a S+L+I+G+H+T possibility that you *may* be a bigger New Order fan than I am :hat:
