WHAT'S THE STORY WITH THIS VERSION OF CEREMONY

I stumbled across this version on YouTube.

This sounds like it was an in-studio demo with Ian singing which I never knew existed.

I'm sure everyone knows the story to it except me, but I'll ask and look painfully uninformed anyway... what's the story with it...?

It’s a Rehearsal take from March/April 1980. It appeared on the Heart and Soul Box-Set; on the 3rd disc.

It’s one of the few existing recordings of Joy Division performing the song. Here is a run down of what is available.
