New Bernard Sumner songs with “Digitalism” and “Westbam”

Westbam - “She Want’s” Digitalism – “Unlearn the Hatred”

-In October I worked on a collaboration between Bernard Sumner & German Techno DJ 'WestBam' on the track 'She Want's', tracking vocals and keyboards.

• Also in October I worked on a collaboration between Bernard Sumner & 'Digitalism' on a track called 'Unlearn This Hatred', again tracking vocals and keyboards.

These are the new songs with Bernard Sumner in it according to this website, Danny Davies, He has worked with Bernard on many songs and you can read at the website.

The only release date I know is about the Digitalism because that album comes out in june 20 2011, that is when the new album comes out, so hopefully that song will be on it, the Westbam I have no clue about.

i don`t like Westbam, he was very popular at break dancers before but i think he play very uncool commercial electro

Looking at the new Digitalism album track listing, I don't see the Bernard Sumner track "Unlearn the hatred" on it, I wonder what happened to that track , I was really looking forward to it.

Hey does anyone know why this never came out. It has been more than a year and no news about it.

Pure speculation, but in the past when he writes a song he really likes for someone else, he pulls it back for himself to record (Crystal comes to mind as an example)

It'll be on the next New Order album then

What are all the other examples of this?

a) maybe the tracks were never finished, and they lost interest and moved on

b) maybe the results were less than thrilling, and they lost interest and moved on

c) maybe they never got a record label that satisifed both parties (would not be a major deal anyway) ... no money in it for anyone, so they lost interest and moved on

d) maybe the intended album/compilation that the song was earmarked for has not been released/finished.

At least that guy claimed they had tried to so something from a 3rd party perspective. Wonder if Bernard would work on the music production side of things as well, or just write some rhyming lyrics for a song.

a) and/or b) would be the likely scenarios I imagine. The collab was more than likely intended to be for Digitalism's second album (which did feature Julian Casablancas of the Strokes on one track). The album came out in June 2011. So c and d not so likely. Sometimes collaborations bring good results and sometimes they don't...
