Just wondering if this edit of this song appeared on any of the promo cds out there. Noticed the lyrics are different at one point too. Really like to have this on disc or mp3 somehow, but have no idea where it came from.

I didn't even know there was a video for Someone like you, looks quite high production values for New Order, not heard the mix before either...
Definitely seems legit. It's even region locked if you live in the US and try to watch it on YouTube, adding more to the mystery.
I reckon it's a bootleg. Probably knocked up by a fan for their own amusement or a film student chose it as a soundtrack for a project. There are unofficial videos all over YouTube so it's relatively common these days; "Alternate Video" gives it away a bit as well.
Certainly that edit does not feature on any of the official promotional CDrs of the time but is a fairly straightforward slice up of the song which anyone could do with a copy of Cool Edit 2000 and some patience. The extra lyric "we're fools in a lost paradise" comes from the premix of the track which is available on certain Get Ready promos. The film maker in question must have cut it directly from the full 6:26 version.
Besides, the lyric is "cruel paradise" and not "cool paradise" as the visuals state. That said, it's not a bad video for something unofficial.
Unless this is a previously unknown Shamberg work?
I thought this was the "original" video for Someone Like You. Loved that song and for once really liked the video.

Most of the Google lyrics sites say "cruel" also - including NOOL.
Who knows with Barney though.
I always thought it was cool paradise but then Barney does have extreme trouble pronouncing his r's. Lol

I made that video one day, so it's not official... By the time I made this I wanted to use some new software.
The video used is indeed Röyksopp's 49%, made it black & white and added the red lines, because of the artwork that was used for the promo 12", and lyrics.
The audio mix can not be found on any official release or promo. It's a special edited version of the 'Freefall (Mix 2)' premix, mainly because it has more and slightly different lyrics. This mix can also be found at SoundCloud. (or send me a PM)
'Cool' or 'Cruel'... It's really hard to say. "Cool paradise" makes more sense than the paradox "(we're having the time of our lives in a) cruel paradise"... 
Anyway, I think it's funny that some sites like Daily Motion think it is the official one
I had a great time making it and it looks better than the 'Thieves Like Us' video I made...
