Me, I prefer Pictures In My Mind. Its a great angry stampy song in its own right wheras Hellbent is a kinda accompaniment to WFTSC.

Over the last month or so we've been treated to two new (sort of) songs from Our Heroes but which do you prefer?

Neither, though I do keep listening to Hellbent, hoping that I'll end up liking it... ![]()

I listened to Hellbent once and haven't gone back to it yet.
I listened to PIMM about half a dozen times when it came out and quite like it.
Hellbent.
I reckon it's a grower of a song but never really stood a chance with lots of people due to the weight of expectation and the fact it was the only slither of new material after 6 years. With the exception of the lazy intro lyric Bernard's vocal is great and really picks up towards the end. Can't really fault the instrumentation either, guitars and electronics gelling in the usual New Order manner. Could have had a bit more Hooky bass which is my only criticism.
PIMM I downloaded (purchased ofc) a few days ago and there's no doubting Hooky's well into what he's doing but the tune itself didn't float my boat. Shan't say anything more negative than that.
But you do realise the "They're Both Crap" option is gonna win? ![]()

Only the people who run the Fac51 web site would know that.

Very
Choosing between Hellbent or Pictures In My Mind is like choosing between chickenpox or measles.
Now if you are talking NO's "Brutal" vs The Light's "Atmosphere", then you've got two very good tracks to choose between.
Hellbent is the better song but PIMM is good live. On the basis of this thread being which song is better I will go with Hellbent though "what you doing" doesn't do it any favours ![]()
