Chicago fan here. Barney, had the pleasure of meeting you twice and have met Hooky several times.

Tough love here. What the f*ck is wrong with you.

I am assigning no blame even though I have my own theory.

Are you guys going to go out over bitterness.

It is crunch time and you guys have a chance to go out making history. 30+ f*cking years together is going down the tubes.

You owe yourselves better than this and you owe U.S.A. a good tour.

I love you guys, I still dream of a New Order / Depeche Mode tour.

Get your shit together and don't go out like bitter old farts.

I'm almost 41 years old, I have been with you guys since I was a teenager. You are breaking my heart. It's bigger now than me just being a fan of some band. New Order is part of us fans that have spent our lives with you and it's part of you. We all need to go out the right way.

I don't want to enforce them to tour. The story of New Order obviously ended. It was a fantastic ride, but everything comes to an end. The members are free to do anything. It's interesting that we witness two opposite ways of dealing with the past: fans can choose whichever they like.

However, they definitely could be less negative about each other in public and treat their recorded legacy with due respect to themselves and fans. That's all.

Judging from what both have said recently, I think it is not realistic to expect a reunion. Maybe it's better for both of them to work separately.

Nobody can force them to reunite as a band, or to be friends again.

I think that the way they fell out, and they way that New Order fell apart, is very sad. To change the face of music twice, to change so many people's lives, to be a part of so many people's lives, to make music that was so perfectly beautiful yet so human at the same time...

And then to fall apart like this. It's sad.

I always loved New Order because in their music, they reached for perfection, but always fell a little short. To me, that's what made their music so beautiful, and so human.

I don't think Bernard or Hooky owes anyone anything, they have given us so much already, like you said, 30+ years of great music.

It's sad, for a younger fan like me in particular [the New order 2.0 generation] as I missed out on the heady days of the 80s and 90s with the band

I can see where you are coming from though. I guess all we can realistically hope for is a few years break and maybe they may start talking again like 1998 I believe - though they seem to be much much more bitter this time....

I know what you're saying but as a northerner yourself you know our sense of humour, we can call each other anything and it's all banter, I'm pretty sure one day they'll laugh abot the whole thing, whether they'll play together again is anyones guess, but I'm sure they're not as bitter as they make out. Perhaps I'm just living in hope of one more NO gig!, but i don't feel they owe it us, we owe them surely, for making our lives better with their music.

They've done enough. Yeah, we want them to continue. But that is called "SELFISH". They started when I was a year old. That is incredible. I'll follow Bernard anywhere he goes,no matter what he does musically (barring hip-hop). Even if Bernard stopped now, totally. I'd be disappointed buti'd know he has his own rational reasons. And don't call them "old farts" ... that is lame.
