I love these mental fucking mornings. In touch with most of The Vikings via email, looks like we have several spare tickets for Paris. So if anyone's fucked, we should be able to help out a few.

Let the fun commence with Brussels.

Nah, let's correct it.

Hooky wasn't New Order.

He was part of New Order, he played awesome high bass parts over songs written by Bernard, Gillian, and Steve.

Bernard is an amazing songwriter, singer, keyboardist, and producer.

Gillian is an amazing keyboard player who created little mini symphonies.

Steve is a brilliant drummer and programmer.

Hooky added his distintive high bass to the above.

But you know know? Hooky quit New Order like a child and is playing JD songs with a cover band.

The others are moving on together, and while it is missing an important component (because I will always love Peter Hook), New Order lives on.

Also, don't see how thier best days were pre 1989..

Given that Crystal, Regret, HTS, WFTSC, and the several other great tracks which rank as some of their best work came out after 1989.

I hope they come to NYC. I am gonna make a big banner that says WELCOME BACK GILLIAN and hold it up in the front row.

My spare for Paris has gone and I now need another one if anyone has one up for grabs! PM me......

Has anyone got a spare ticket for either of these gigs? I took the emotional blackmail double bluff gambit rather too far and consequently failed to book any on Friday :-(

Would dearly love to be at one of these shows as I had to give up my ticket for Blackpool 2006 for similar family-oriented reasons.

In my heart though I believe that if the other three get away with it there will probably be shows closer to home in the near future.

Here's hoping...

Ed.

I have actually been debating whether to come to the show Tuesday. I just started a new job, so I am between paychecks.

However, if I came, why would I make up a banner saying WELCOME BACK, GILLIAN? She isn't a member of the Light!

I'd be more likely to make a banner saying PINEAPPLE FACE because I'd love to hear Hooky and co play it, my favorite Revenge tune, and I even told Hooky that in an email a few years ago.

You understand, don't you, that I am not part of this split fan thing? I think it's fine that Hooky is doing JD records live with you guys, and I think its fine that the other members of NO are playing as NO. Everyone is doing what they want.

Like, I don't think Hooky is the villain, nor is Bernard. And I don't think there is anything wrong with The Light.

Would I rather hear The Light come up with some new material than do just JD songs? YES. I've said on here many times that I like Hooky's singing voice and I would rather hear you guys do some new songs than just JD albums. That being said, if you wanna just do JD songs, that's fine with me. I know I have referred to you as a cover band, but I know it takes a lot of skill to accurately reproduce those JD songs live. I've considered coming to see you twice now (couldn't get the night off work last time you were in NYC).

All I have tried to do in these arguments is point out that Hooky quit NO and is doing the Light, and the other four members of NO want to carry on as NO, and both are fine by me. I don't think anyone is the bad guy.

If I met Hooky, I'd say as much to him. In spite of the NO split and the press arguments and my preference for new music over doing old, I am still a Peter Hook fan. He is one of my favorite bass players, and a few years back, he took the time to answer some questions I had in emails. I'm still a fan of your Dad's, so don't lump me in the Anti-Hooky camp.

I am not Anti any current or former member of New Order. Everyone do what they want. Hooky is doing what he wants. Good on him.

Anyways, if you wanna put me on the guest list, that would be great. I'll get up front and you can totally make fun of me and call me an idiot. A small price to pay to hear The Eternal, Decades, and Heart and Soul live.

Don't make me out to be a bad guy here, Jack. Cheers to ya!

Right, if I can swing getting over, who has spare tickets?

I'd also like to add I'm not in either camp really, I've seen The Light twice, Bad Lieutenant many times, and soon I will have my first New Order gig. Sure, Hooky isn't there, but am I still going and still excited by the gigs? You bet I am. I never had the chance to see New Order live before .

Also... I have spare tickets for both gigs [1 ticket per gig] I haven't started a thread or anything for them as I would like to do this when I have them in my possession.

its kinda hard for me not to think that when every post you make is so vehemently pro the others and anti hooky. im happy for you to bash the little covers band but not when you haven't even seen a show, like most of the people that do bash it. so you'll be on the list on tuesday and im sure we can alter your opinions a little. i've always liked a challenge.

Totally. I love Pineapple Face. I love that first Revenge album because Hooky's singing sounds so fucking sleazy!

I know it may seem as if I am anti-Hooky, but I am not. I just don't like seeing people attack The Other Three like they are some evil jerks for wanting to play together as NO. I have never said I am anti-Hooky or what he is doing, because I am not. I can see how you might think that from my post, and yes, I am all for seeing New Order perform again, and while I wish Hooky was the in the group, he isn't and that's life. I've never said I thought Hooky was the villain or a bad guy. Look thru my posts, I always maintain that I respect his Bass genius and think he is a cool guy who can do what he wants. If he wants to do JD songs with the Light, so be it. Your Dad took the time to write me a few emails and I will always think he is a quality person for doing that.

Moving on....

I humbly thank you for putting me on the guest list for tomorrow night's show here in NYC.

I am looking forward to having my opinions altered, and my mind changed. I will be upfront, I look like the bastard child of Robert Smith and Andy Warhol, should you wish you have a joke at my expense!

Cheers! I am looking forward to see the Light kick my ass.

Paris ticket arrived.

Anyone who needs tickets for Brussels, I spotted these on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Tickets-New-Order-AB-Brussels-17-October-2011-First-live-gig-since-2006-/220854256778?\_trksid=p5197.m7&\_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D2846944644083643122

£102 for 2 tickets, not bad, but there's still 2 days to go!

Anyone from the state side going for either gig?

Really tempted. Is it even possible to fly from LA to Paris, see the show, take a pic in front of Eiffel, and fly back to LA? All in 3 days? Maybe 4? :brow:

My Brussels ticket arrived last Tuesday I think. I went for printable E-tickets for Paris.

Not sure if this affected anyone else here but the AB Concerts payment process did not allow me to enter my full building address which was pretty crap so only half got submitted. I sent their support guys an Email afterwards quoting my order number and included my full address. I got a response pretty quickly and the ticket arrived with no issues to the correct address.

If you have problems drop info@abconcerts.be a mail.

Has anyone bought resold tickets through Viagogo or Seatwave? Some of these are coming through as e-tickets with the original buyers name on - suggesting that the original buyers ID will be requested at the venue - this could amount to an expensive stitch-up - all the way to Paris and no entry! I am in contact with Viagogo who are slow to respond on this. Any ideas or experience of this from anyone???

I bought a ticket on viagogo, well received within 72 hours with a photocopy of the buyer! logically it's good ...

Hey Mick,

I'm really sorry to hear that you won't be able to come to the concert. I understand that you must be quite pissed off!

Please, I would be so so happy if I could purchase one of the tickets of you. If it's for the ticket's sake, I could even send it back to you after the concert.

I promise I would dance in your honour at the Bataclan. I'm sure you have a heart of gold. I'm blinking my eyes right now, but you can't see it.

send me a PM ;)
