OK, I think we've all had our say (including me) about the current NO situation, but its getting really fucking boring now.

Fans are starting to take sides and are carrying on like tech-heads arguing on IT forums about whether Windows or Mac OSX is the better operating system...... irrational (as there is room for both) and ultimately dull.

Hooky's is touring old JD stuff under a diff name. Barney, Steve and Gillian are doing the NO stuff under the NO name. End of story.

Yes, all sides could have dealt with the situation since the break up a whole lot better (and everyone, including me, has shared their opinion), but I think now we should just let the knobheads get on with it (I love NO, including Peter, but they can be knobheads :D ).

If we don't like some or all of them, then vote with you feet (and wallets) and don't go to the live shows or buy the material (personally, I would be happy to go to both, albeit with a sense of regret - pun intended - at how things have worked out).

The situation ain't ideal, but it is what it is (and us lot fanning the flames probably ain't helping).

I guess we should all support both sides in what they are doing workwise, hope they put on some good shows (and maybe produce good new material) and that maybe..... maybe....... one day they'll become friends again.

Most sensible post about this, I've just had a rant myself and feel the whole taking sides thing is getting completely out of hand, perhaps NOOL should be shut and replaced with two separate sites? (I doubt very muck Nick would want to do that!)

Ditto! And they will put on good shows, and make a lot of people happy.

All I care about is the music. When I go to a Light show, I get to see a member of one of my favorite bands performing songs I love. Why should anything else matter?

I want to agree on the general principle, but having watched the Pictures video again today, I shuddered that such a lame track came about. Some things are better left frozen in time. Plus, even if we all come together in collective prayer that Hooky and the rest kiss and make up, it surely won't be long after the charity shows that some wanker goes off about how inferior Tom Chapman is. Recall that Phil got crap for years on this forum just for being someone new onstage!

Personally, I'll state my opinion if I don't agree with whatever a certain band member's up to but that's nothing personal against any of them. That would be silly. When it descends into getting personal with the band I think there should be some moderation. Something I was involved in - as a mod - up until very recently but I think it's been shown lately that the site owner Spotnick is far too absent to monitor what goes on.

The main news page has not even been updated to reflect this (partial, some might say) reunion of New Order for a charitable cause. Disappointing.
