Anyone know why Republic is only available as partial album on iTunes with several tracks missing?
I am referring to UK iTunes, so would also be interesting to hear if the full album is available in other countries.
Also it's not available as mp3 download on Amazon, even though the other albums are (apart from wftsc).
I checked out 7digital, another online store I sometimes buy from and it's pretty much the only studio album by New Order they don't offer. Perhaps a licensing agreement somewhere has expired?
Possibly something to do with that "CentreDate" company the band formed immediately post-Factory? None of the other New Order albums were released in conjunction with "CentreDate" as far as I can recall. Maybe Republic is a special case.

I don't think so.
The first thing you typically see before impending reissues are are the old pressings being flogged to the hilt because nobody will want them once the newer versions arrive. The older ones become unshiftable overnight. If anything, I'd be expecting the older Republic mastering to be on the front page under "bargains" in order to shift as many units as possible.
I would imagine digital stores do it as much as shops like HMV etc.
Just my take though...
It's way overdue... We need a 2xCD deluxe release. CD1: the remastered original; CD2: a re-mixed version of the album if Republic was recorded today. I think it's a great cause. All of them could work on that, it's better than writing new material for 3-5 years. We're all getting old!

Yeah I noticed that a lot of the alt mixes from the Get Ready and WFTSC era are gone from itunes when I looked around a few months back.

Republic is the only NO CD i have which i didnt copy onto pc. and guess what? I finally downloaded it last week to put on iphone and from everyone everywhere onwards all tracks have a scratch noise throughout.
like many folk its not my fave No album but still pleasant to listen to. so i gotta try n track the album on itunes or find in a bargain bin!
