Well???

That's the nagging feeling I am now getting at any rate.

I just can't get my head around the notion that they're basically Bad Lieutenant but with Gillian now in tow.

Why the hell couldn't they just retire the fucking name?

IT's never going to be the same, so I wish they would fucking stop pretending it is. Fools - the lot of 'em. FOOLS!

Well it doesn't help that he seems intent on being all polite and audience friendly now. Why can't he be like Lou Reed in his old age i.e. still be really arsey?

Well what? This is just a(nother) pointless rant, Eck.

You loathe the idea of the "new" New Order. Fair enough but recent events don't really back up your stance. Reaction from fans who went to see this new incarnation has been almost overwhelmingly positive. I've yet to read a single bad review but if you know of one, please link it so we can all have a read. Also, the fans seem to be voting with their feet as Brussels, Paris and London sold out in under 15 minutes - venue sizes notwithstanding.

The assertion of "it's cabaret" is ludicrous. If it was Bernard by himself taking the New Order name on the road with anonymous backing musicians then I would agree but three of the original line-up plus Phil Cunningham is not cabaret; it's just a different setup.

As per, the fans moaning the loudest about the comeback seem to be the ones who can't be arsed going to see them

Oh, Please!

Stop your Peter Murphy Lemon-Sucking impressions this minute....

You know what I'm like, and yet time and time again you take all my posts so seriously!

LIGHTEN UP MAN - have a sense of humour will you?

What the hell do I want to see a Cabaret version of NO for squire? And in Lahndahn for all that? What dya take me for?

I'd rather see the friggin' Stone Roses!

AND STOP STALKING MY POSTS LIKE SOME SORT OF WEIRDO.

You're just a sucker for punishment.

Oh i dunno. By Eck's view on proceedings is always a chucklesome light relief , alternative piss take view. I guess you have to be an old fart fan from the 80s like myself to appreciate it. Jeez even i took the piss out of New Order in 1985, as they took the piss out of themselves. That's what somewhat irks me about Barney now, he seems to take everything so seriously with all this being polite to the audience crap. The Tower Ballroom gig 86 seems like a different band, a different era , a different lifetime, a different universe ago now. Er, probably #cause it was:shrug:

Thing is, look at Mark E Smith - he doesn't give a fuck. The most curmudgeonly cantankerous cunt going - and yet people still love him! Not my cup of tea, granted, but there's nobody else on earth like that old bastard.

When New Order start being nice and adult and respectable instead of being contrary and unpredictable is when they stop being exciting in my book. And that was..........oooooooh, about 21 years ago or summat?

Why can't Bernard just drop his kecks on stage or summat? Or try and be like Iggy Plop and do summat really dumb and Beavis 'n' Butthead? Or stop BLT halfway through the song and start munching on a BLT sarnie..... or give special guest Brandon Flowers a blow job live on stage.....

Just to....like....make people's jaws open wide in astonishment or summat?

:) :D

I saw a bit of that too - repeated the other night....and.....some might shoot me down for saying this....but...what IS it with all this fuss about Nirvana? Their music is just watered down Pixies at best - absolutely ordinary and not that remarkable. After two songs that were exact variations on the same tired old formula (neither of which were the hits), I just changed channels.

Truly a case of Emperors New Clothes. Never bought into all that grunge bollox.....all that angst and shit.
