Greetings lads and ladies...I was watching Pretty in Pink, when shellshock came on and reminded me I had a duty to take care of, so Let's go...

For your review, this week...Sooner Than You Think

Come now...you all know the drill...I think I've forgotten it!

Best Bit Worst Bit Why you like it or hate it % Rating Saddam Hussein, godless despot, or misunderstood autocrat?

Best: The guitar and bass sections near the end.

Worst: The intro is a bit too clunky, it takes awhile to get really going.

Why you like it or hate it: I put in on one of my own mix CDs long before I discovered it was off Low Life (before I was a true fan ;) It's one of the mediocre cuts of the album, not the best, not the worst either

% Rating: 72%

Saddam Hussein, ruthless butcherer, but made light of in "Hot Shots Part Deux" in a rather funny way

1 Definitely a live classic (well, most of the time) particularly enjoy the chorus, and the version on Rock Around The Clock, Saturday Live 84 is a fantastic fookin version!

2 To be critical, I'd have to say it sounds a wee bit dated

3 Love it, one of the cousins I'm moving in with in a couple of weeks (Steve) has a video recording of me and him belting this out on New Years Eve 91/92, dunno why we chose that song, but we did, while wee cuz number 2 (Paddy) was annoying us by singing Chesney Hawkes One and fookin Only! (he was only wee at the time:lol: )

Pretty In Pink, eh? Was that on TBS then? I seem to recall a day late last week when, while channel-surfing for a bit, I saw the end of that movie, then the beginning of Breakfast Club. I thought that John Hughes had died or something.

Anyhoo, on to the song:

Best bit: classic Hooky bass, the lyrics are interesting, and I like Barney's singing and the guitar solo.

Worst bit: not especially memorable chorus

Why I like it: It DID sound great live.

Saddam: Fooker ruined the South Park movie for me, but, as in the movie, he's obviously lower than Satan himself.
