What is the rarest official release from the band on CD(album or single) that you've seen or bought? I would probably say my Touched by the Hand of God CD single that has the 12" mix with confusion dub and original temptation as tracks 2&3 respectively.

I've got that one too - quite a good one! Alot of the CD singles from 'Technique' are difficult to find. I was rather pleased when I found 5 copies of 'Fine Time' 5" CD single, as that was always more difficult to get than the 3".

I think the rarest official releases (on vinyl) that I have are Run2 and 'From Brussels With Love' - the album that features Kevin Hewick & New Order.

This is a rare CD single, indeed. Regarding "Temptation", although it reads "original mix" in the sleeve in fact it's the 5/87 version from "Substance".

But getting back to your question, I'd say the first two singles on CD format ("True Faith" and "Touched by the Hand of God") plus "Everything's Gone Green" from Factory Benelux (it also features "Mesh" and "Cries and Whispers"). There are also promos and Japanese editions, the list can go on and on.

Ricardo - yeah, I forgot about the promos - too many really, but two of my faves are:

Italian DJ only promo, double 'A' side - Blue Monday/Confusion

and

Italian DJ only promo, double 'A' side - Perfect Kiss/Subculture

(both 12" vinyl, with HORRIBLE blue and orange sleeves)

OOhhh... I'm going to have to go out and buy some more promos now... :jump: whoopeee!!

I guess I've been lucky, I found TBTHOG on CD single in an import record shop, found Round & Round and Fime Time in a used record shop, Blue Monday 88 also..

I've never seen TBTHOG again, and I've never seen True Faith 97 neither.

But the rarest thing on CD is probably the LA 2001 show, it's a promo.

The others are just rare to find now, that one, the live gig, is only known to have 5 copies, and one got sold for 500$US+ on EBay !

I'm dying to get my hands on one of the '01 LA gig promo cd's. I never knew there was one on eBay - good thing too. If anyone has this show, let's hope they're willing to trade.

This cd definitely gets my vote as the rarest NO cd.

Isn't the fact that there's only aroung 5 copies a sign that it's a legger?

If you see any of these so-called "promo" CDs on Ebay then either stay well away or be VERY sure of what you're actually getting. Whether 5 is indeed the total number burned I'm not really sure - nor do I care frankly - but things have been tightened up alot since the original leaks at Reprise.

For 'hard-to-find' NewOrder promo CD..... how about the Australian Promo for Get Ready that has preliminary song titles and different tracks from the official release..... Saw one of those went on E-bay and bought for nearly US$400 !!!!

Now, who bought it?..... Any chance of getting a CD-R of it? I'm willing to do anything...heehee......I'll even go and hunt down terrorist Bush for you lots......

I Think that is rare: 12" True Faith Australian release. I looking for five years and only buying now.

Is this really "rare"?? There used to be a copy for £3.99 in a record store in Stoke and it sat there for years: until, I think, they closed down a few years back. Nearly bought it 'cos I thought it was the '82 "Temptation", but got 'em to give it a spin beforehand, heard the result, and though "naaaaah".

Is it worth money, then??

The one with Paradise remix on the b side??? I bought that one about 15 years ago and never seen it anywhere else... Maybe it is a rare one.

What about the temptation 7", is it hard to find these days??? Just want to know...

RARE???...NAH....... Don't you guys go to E-bay? Every week there will be like probably 5 copies of Temptation 7" listed there....and many are sold from USA... For Sydneysiders, there is a copy sitting in the second-hand rack upstairs in RED EYE record store....

Australian 12" True Faith with Paradise remix ...rare?..nah.... I've got 4 copies of that darn thing....and I know Monsieur Brendan Sun bought one some time ago from E-bay .....

USA Mini-Album is hard to locate - anywhere. And I'm talking the original vinyl in mint con.

The Australian Paradise is also very hard to find.

Original Factory white cardboard releases amongst the most exclusive mainstream releases to get hold of. Not seen too many 'Murder' 12"s either, or EGG or the bronze Ceremony.

The cardboard 7" EGG's are a popular collection point ... I have 7, I think Rocket has 8 ... total is 10 (I may be wrong).

I am pleased I bought these when I had the chance on initial release.

I've only ever seen 2 metallic Brotherhood albums (vinyl). One is in my loft and one is in Depthcharge's house.

Run 2 ... another golden goose.

A week after I bought it, which was a lucky happening as I missed the shop copies (bought it from a friend) - I was offered £25 ... that was after a week!

I was outbid for run2 last week whilst I was sleeping it only went for £12.50 an all. pah! Saw Murder on e-bay last week. I was thinking of bidding then reminded myself it's shit.

The mini album and the Murder 12" are items that i've lost over the years (what a shame). But i still have EGG 12" and 7"(orange)and the bronze Ceremony 7". Should have bought the metallic Brotherhood 15 years ago, i only have the canadian release and i'ts not metallic.:shy:

Murder's class man.

Ceremony bronze 12" is a beautiful piece of artwork.

So is the green one ... and the white version!

Re Murder, sorry, I was getting confused with the one that sounds like Human League?

am confused - white cardboard releases of what? used to be a few ceremony bronze 7"s in the shops in these parts. would go with brotherhood metallic sleeve as rarest official release (ignoring promos like the multi colour vinyl pc & l) & another one ive not seen is any of the original cd's with the car carry case
