Hooky's blog

Some great "on the road" stuff but also some sad and bitter "New Odour" comments......

Where will it end.

The blog sadly confirms (I think) that the reported Gillian bashing etc was not only true but Hooky has no shame about it!

WTF.

Great tour despite it all, and the adventure ahead…..to prove that NEW ORDER is not NEW ORDER without me!

Bernard's answer to Hooky with his own eyes :evil4:

Hooky, shut up. The more you say, the less dignified you look.

I don't see Barney etc calling your band "THE SHITE", so leave it out.

So Annik still carries a torch for Joy Division, good for her, never heard mention of Annik going to see new order.

Praise to the glory of loved ones now gone.

He seems to write some words in all capitals, perhaps for emphasis?

I'm surprised that Hooky hasn't started touring as Joy Division. It will be the musical version of MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon. It can only be a matter of time...

The problem with that is even the "new" New Order have the majority surviving Joy Division members (Barney and Steve) on board. I'm pretty sure Debbie Curtis would take an extremely dim view of Ian's band being dragged through the courts in a point scoring exercise between Bernard and Hooky. In short, it won't happen but if it did it would be a new low.

Hooky's apparent main beef with the "new" New Order is that band shouldn't possibly exist without all three of it's core members on board (of whom he doesn't include Gillian, allegedly) so if he did the same with Joy Division it would be staggeringly hypocritical and tit-for-tat. Not many fans would sympathise.

For those reasons I think The Light will remain just that... Hooky's vehicle for playing Joy Division songs and other parts of his legacy live. Seems fair enough to me.

It's only a matter of time before Hooky releases a yellow vinyl 10" of re-recorded New Order songs wrapped around a Hacienda brick at £450 a go.

Oh.

If he think that's a respectful way of dealing with the New Order name, then I'm happy to say I'm out. It won't be too long before he tries to sell the Hacienda name as a franchise to budding clubs across the rest of the world (which must include incompetent accountants), and action figures recreating famous moments at the club soon, such as the "1989 Overdose" and the "1983 Madonna Appearance".
