Just spotted at New Order Now that theres a Cd of The Troxy gig being released via Live Here Now. £20 seems a bit steep but the clips sound quite good. MP3 option too.
Following a triumphant return to the London stage this month, NEW ORDER release ‘Live at The London Troxy – 10th December 2011” on Wednesday 21st December, available for purchase online exclusively through Abbey Road – Live Here Now Recordings.
This release features the entire performance from the show, which sold out within 5 minutes when it was announced. New Order performed a blistering 90 minute set, featuring songs spanning 25 years of hits and classic tunes, alongside previously unheard live songs (‘586’), and the set culminated in a spectacular rendition of ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ for the final encore. Speaking in The Times, music critic David Sinclair said “A cracking show! With the band encased in a lattice- work of green laser beams, a beautiful and flattering lighting design that showed just enough of the players and no more, the stage was set for a performance that balanced the group’s traditional mystique with an undercurrent of revivalist euphoria.” Reviewing for the London Evening Standard, David Smyth said “this was as good as it gets”.
The CD will ship the first week in the New Year, but so you don’t miss out, Abbey Road will send a FREE MP3 of the album to anyone who pre-orders the CD before Christmas.
