I htought Hooky had bought or leased the studio a couple of years ago, I'm sure it was given as the address for Hacienda records initially?

And now for something completely different.
Chris Hewitt who is pictured along with the article is the guy behind those fake In The Studio With Martin Hannett CDs, including the one that's nothing more than unlicensed Joy Division songs sped up and mixed with completely disposable studio "atmospherics", being passed off as Martin's own "private psychedelic reel". That guy is a total fraud.
1.0 out of 5 stars this is rubbish!, 17 Jun 2008 By Mr. P. Hook (los angeles) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: In the Studio With Martin Hannett (Audio CD) i cant believe the lengths that chris hewitt and interstate(who are they?) have gone to peddle this rubbish, our lawyers are working on it , i wouldnt mind if it was any good whatsoever but its not, an insult to all our intelligences! peter hook

As £50 says, the JD/Hannett related stuff Hewitt and his "label" have been responsible for over the years is very, very ropey. It's such a shame to see a bona fide legend such as Hannett having such bilge released under his name.
The Amazon UK reviews of both those "In The Studio" CDs from a few years ago are hilariously frank even though they come from die-hard JD fanatics whom you'd think would love any old shite they hadn't heard.
