New Order could team up with Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah for a remake of their classic song 'World In Motion', according to reports.

The recently-reformed Manchester legends first recorded and released the track for the 1990 World Cup and, according to The Sun, could put out a new version of the single featuring the two rappers as the soundtrack to England's exploits at the European Football Championships this June.

"A couple of years ago New Order and the record label came within 24 hours of doing the song with Dizzee," said a source. "It never happened but it's different this year – New Order are back together and Dizzee's free."

Tinie's been approached, too, so Dizzee has some competition. There's an idea to get them both on board – it could be massive.

Every other year when some major football event happens, the tabloids write their stupid fantasy that it will be re-released, with either some footballer or actual rapper/hiphop star rapping the John Barnes part. But it never happens, and likely never will. What makes anyone think New Order will collaborate with a real rapper/hiphop person and re-release it? New Order have been coy about recording new material (in general) to the press; what makes these brainless fantasy writers think it's likely that this stupid collaboration will happen?

Even if the members of New Order were broke, I think they would be more likely to tour the world than re-release WIM with a rapper.  :banghead:

At least it would be a massive improvement on John Barnes.
