Great Gig! Predictable setlist - except for....Here to stay! first time ever live, sounded pretty damn good too. Loved every moment, was in the nosebleed zone against the barrier in front of Phil. Good looking official merch - including a rather fetching "Veritas' number...and this little number for 10 quid:

nope - just some Kraftwerk-meets-Windows95 screensaver graphics. Sounded great though!
Barney seemed a little pissed off about something earlier in the set, but loosened up to a packed, receptive crowd. Moment of panic when 2 mins into BM and he wasn't on stage, the missus said she could see him, and he gestured to his glass of wine indicating "I'm not finished" when being cast glances of concern from bandmates!

I am so happy that they played Here to Stay! I think it's one of their best songs...I wish that would have held it back for WFTSC, it would have made a much better lead single than Krafty. I think it's a classic New Order song.
One gripe....I think HTS should be played later in the set, with 586, TH, BLT, ect...
and would it kill them to play HTS AND Round and Round? 16 songs is only one more than 15.
I wish they had mixed up the set like this when I saw them in 2005...when I saw them then, the only songs they did that weren't played on the 5 11 DVD were the 4 they did from WFTSC.

Yea, I gauged that too..then he got 2 guys to remove a piece of carpet under his mic.
IMO i thought the vocals was a bit soft/muddled...? They improved it considerably compared with what The Panics had to put up.
The best bit, for me, was TEMPTATION - in fact I was the guy who yelled out for the song seconds before the song actually starts. I was the second person behind the barrier right in front of Barney...yay!

HTS sounded fantastic. Pity we didn't get to hear R&R but 1963 was back in and utterly splendid. Great Barney banter. Can't wait for Sydney next Wednesday; at least we've got the Aphex Twin on Tuesday to warm up.
Any video footage of Here To Stay popped up yet? Really excited to see and hear how it sounds played live! I've been looking, found nothing so far.

I think they should consider scrambling the setlist occasionally. The set would seem fresh without them having to add and drop as many tracks. I don't understand why they feel that most of the dancey tracks have to be lumped together.
How long has it been since they opened with Blue Monday? Get it out of the way. Even DigiMike would appreciate that.
I think in the old days, Steve was responsible for determining the set order (loading floppy's and whatnot). I can't believe the new tech, video included, is the cause of the rigidity.
It was a great gig, great set list, loved Here to Stay and rework of 586 and I will leave it to others to review in spite of being a fan of some 33 years! - I just want to say how great it was to see Gillian back on stage after all these years...and not looking any different. Has Steve had you preserved in the freezer!

I think I have HTS as well - took about 17min on a DV cam so just have to grab it off. Gig was too good to video the whole thing!

Now that there are real machines on the stage again, scrambling the set becomes harder. You have to test the running order you see, to ensure that (for example) some condition which exists in the rig after 586 wont cause Temptation to go completely bananas.
This is the voice of painful personal experience, having had a live rig throw a total spaz attack...live on the fucking radio.

Ha I forgot about that! Gold. Barney made a joke about Tom being a shit bass player and then a reference to Hooky, and the crowd ( as well as Gillian laughs and then goes 'ooohh'. Then Barney shouts 'What?!'

haha..no chance mate, not when my Malaysian accent is so thick theres no way Barney would've comprehend...that why i kept it simple - one word TEMPTATION :D Also with so many nice ladies (oe Barney's angels ?? ) around me then, I just gotta keep my yobbo instinct under lid :D
I was quite amazed that many of those who lined up an hour prior to door opening werent that hardcore fans - after chatting with a few of them - many told me how their classic ORDER album was this and that but many werent even aware ORDER was here in Oz in 2002...

Hope everyone enjoys Sydney on March 7 - my 45th birthday. If someone had told me when I was at Rotters in Doncaster that I'd back watching Nu Ordah in Manchester aged 45 I'd have said they were more pissed than me!
