I think it is PAINFULLY PATHETIC that they are coming to America and doing only 1 show in miami, they have so many fans hare and they could make so much money by going to NYC, LA, Chicago and so many other places, does anybody know why they are only doing 1 show in America, it makes no sense to me. Carrying all of that equipment and coming all the way here for 1 lousy festival show, when they can fill out places.

I bet they'll do more, Steve. Just sit tight and wait for further announcements. It looks like they're caning it all year so I would be surprised if a mini-tour isn't announced along the same lines of 2005.

Don't quote me on that of course but I'd be really surprised if they don't.

Maybe they've got something bigger planned in the US for later in the year?

And you can quote me on that.

You can hardly blame them for not slogging their guts around the US at this time when they've just toured Down Under and are then about to embark on a full-on assault of the UK and Yourup beyond that.

Should imagine they got an offer they couldn't refuse for the festival but additional dates didn't fit into their schedule at this juncture.

Still, you could always get on a plane and see them somewhere else instead? Now there's a thought!

Wait until the "Lost Sirens" is actually released...

I think it is very possible that they might do some US Dates in Fall 2012.

Barney read somewhere that obsessed fans in the USA don't like his filthy sailor language, so they decided to give the USA a miss. Yes, it is your fault.

Maybe he doesn't want to offend you or others with saying 'cunt'? (Just a joke).

Quite on the contrary. Bernard was obsessed with America in the 80s: they toured it extensively, while listening to Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison in their tour buses crossing Plato Llano. :thumb:

NoShit Sherlock, Yep of coarse they toured the US extensively in the 80s Im not disputing that fact. Was it not more Rob & Tony that were obsessed with America? If you listen to a lot of the bootlegs from the US its as if Barney cant be arsed with the US crowd,as he's very arrogant and he sounds totally pissed off towards the weak US crowds.

Just finished reading the stories of the '83 US tour in Mick Middles' Factory book from what I can gather it wasn't that he doesn't like the US it's more that he was fucking knackered beyond belief with lack of sleep and touring and putting the effort in and in return getting some pretty meagre feedback from some of the crowds. I'd be pissed off too if I put all that effort in and the crowd didn't seem arsed.

Then again in 89 when he had nervous exhaust I suppose the states don't hold too many pleasant memories for him but I'm sure they will do more.

I mean Bad Lieutenant tried to get there twice didn't they? Or did Bernard erupt the volcano?? :uhoh:

Sorry America, but with no new product to sell and only limited appeal now, you ain't all that high on the list of priorities, not when there's "name your price" European festivals and showcase gigs to cash in on!

Some countries have only had NO come for festivals. Japan, for example. Since 2001, New Order have only done festivals here. (2001, 2005, and now 2012). But I'm not complaining about that, because it's not that hard for somebody (with the money, time etc) to travel to the places where the festival is held. So I'm happy they even come here once for 1 festival gig sometimes.

But I can imagine travelling might be difficult in America, as I hear it's a big country.

Apparently not enough money to be made touring the U.S. Not yet, anyway. Maybe in the fall.

New Order are quite popular in America. At least in the major cities. New Order have large fanbases in NYC, Chicago, Detroit, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, and would probably do well in Cleveland, Miami, and Austin, not to mention festivals like South by Southwest, Coachella, and others.

The could easily do an 8 date tour of the States and hit all of the cities above, and do two nights each in LA, Chicago, and NYC, and make some money doing it.

If Peter Hook can fill out the Gramercy Theater in NYC then New Order could surely sell out the Roseland or Hammerstein Ballroom. If PIL could sell out dates on their 18 date US tour in 2009, I am sure New Order could do the same.

The US is a big country though.
