Do any of you plugged in hipsters out there know if N.O. plan to do any dates in the U.S. any time soon? 3 West Coast gigs for Get Ready just does NOT cut it. Is there some reason they're avoiding the East Coast? I know the label support they've gotten lately blows and the new hits album isn't coming out here anytime in the near future, if at all, but I thought they liked NYC. Fuck, I don't think they've been here since '93.. what gives?

I got no answer for this one...
I hold out more hope of seeing them in London again than I do for seeing them do an extended "tour" here in North America!!!

Lets end this once and for all

New Order are a mainstream band in the UK, still fairly big news in Europe if this summer's festivals were anything to go by (headlining Roskilde, etc) but they're obviously minority music in the US, so you'd have to question why they would even want to tour there?
It's one thing trying to 'break' America with Echo & the Bunnymean and PiL in the 80's but they're fast approaching 50 now so what would be the point? If America hasn't got 'em yet, it ain't ever gonna get them. Just one of them things, I guess? Shame, but there you go.
it's your own fault - for homework you each have to get 10 friends into them, then they have to get 10 friends into them & so on, a pyramid scheme for bands. could work.

yessssssssssss....that's why I spent my pennies going to California...England...and am still willing to spend more pennies to go to the next show in England...
Australia would have been nice...but...you can't always get what you want!!!
I think I can answer for everyone when I say.....no FUCKING way are they going to tour.
Thank you, and have a pleasant evening ![]()
(grumble, grumble, "why does New Order hate me so?", grumble, grumble)
Yes, unfortunately I have to agree with you on that. They will not! It would be a big surprise seeing the promotion it's been given in the U.S.
this is why I suggerst that each and every one of you that live in the States get your arses over to the UK to see a gig in their homeland...
it's nothing like what you've been to here, and the chance to meet the likes of the Shugster, well, that's worth the airfare alone...
the Engerlish and the Scots, and that one gal from Wales, they are quite entertaining, and a VERY decent lot...
even if we are a dysfunctional family!!!!
