kNEW you would LIKE them
Face Up is a classic example of them having a great idea live and ruining it in the studio. Between March and August 84 it was ace. When they resurfaced having recorded Low Life it was shit, extra parts added that totally changed the feel of the song.
All The Way was just a rip-off of a Cure song in retaliation for In Between Days, The Walk and Close To Me.
This was a real toughie but after much thunking, All The Way takes me there.
Liking this comp.
Face Up was magic live, but I loved All The Way live as well and the studio version is the muts nuts.
Aw ra Way!!!

does anyone have an mp3 of the early live version? I'd like to hear that.
All the way for me, it has a better bass line, just.

Bradford 84... "This next one's s New one we're going to try out. Be alright this..."
There are only two NO songs I can't listen to, Face Up and Working Overtime (ironically both being album closers).
So All The Way for me.
Easily All The Way, its only flaw being that it's too short. :) I never really liked Faced Up... should have been a decent song but never ended up being.

Any live version of 'Face Up' is better than the horrible studio one. I didn't buy Lowlife until early 1987, but had a few live tapes by then with it on there. I was shocked how bad it sounded as a studio track, when live is was awesome.

That's the part of the song which creases me up - the intro and the slap bass bit.

Otherwise it's basically Temptation #2. Which begs the question...... that is surely a mash-up waiting to happen - Temptation and Face Up.

Really? That's interesting... :) BTW who are Martian? They some sort of electroclash band? Never heard of them.
