A "last rave"? Until the 35th anniversary? Or the 31st at the rate JD/NO related anniversaries are "celebrated" these days.
I mean, every day is an anniversary of something. Everyone has endless anniversaries of stuff in their life whether it be birthdays, death days, wedding/relationship anniversaries and what not. There are only about two or three which really mean something to me (I exclude my birthday from that as well).
The question is whether you get swallowed up endlessly paying respect to "anniversaries" or duly doff your cap to the past and get on with looking to the future.

Who honestly cares when a charity is gonna make a load of money? As is the case here.
Naturally, it's great when any legitimate charity makes money for their cause. However, in frankness it's hard to shake the vision of a black & yellow striped mobile DJ van in a car park with a load of 40-50 year olds throwing some shapes to Voodoo Ray. I assume the carpark is underground so the cars will have to be cleared for the day?
No doubt some people will love it and fair play, that's their call. I hope it raises lots of charitable cash as a result.
Interesting to note from the article that your Dad wants to invite (the rest of) New Order. I half-hope they show up and reminisce over what they accomplished together minus the business shenanigans. Mind you, the Hacienda was nothing but business shenanigans during it's original lifetime so that's probably a bit doubtful.
Still, nice to see a bit of diplomacy in the interview.
So, the original car park has been preserved under the building? are there any old fossils still down there, I wonder?

The article says it didn't get busy till 88 and acid house. Well, I was there in one night in 86, and it was pretty busy then if I recall. maybe a one-off? Also, I don't remember the "horrific" toilets - wasn't that in Trainspotting?
